Abiomed, a rapidly growing medical device company, is looking for a passionate and experienced Cardiology Clinical Consultant. This role is key to Abiomed's commercial business success. Our products have continued to expand in Cath Labs and surgical suites across the US. With our continued success, we are looking to expand our Clinical Consultant team. This role will be responsible for demonstrating the value and impact of our Impella product portfolio to physicians and hospital staff. This role will cover our Salt Lake City franchise.

Job Responsibilities

  • Patient Support: Improve patient outcomes through education and medical staff interaction. Visit all institutions where patients have been equipped with Impella products to collect clinically relevant data, document trip results, and communicate activities with other team members and sales counterparts.

  • Account Training / Account Management: Responsible for ongoing training. Enable and drive the growth and performance of the franchise. Coordinate and lead activities with sales counterpart and document results of each trip. Manage customer education for new and existing accounts.

  • Education/Clinical Demos: Arrange or assist in coordinating on site clinical demos to educate all levels of the medical staff.

Job Requirements

  • Clinical/technical (radiology, CVT, perfusion) degree required, RN preferred

  • 3+ years of direct patient support in a Cath Lab, ICU, or CCU required

  • 2+ years of commercial experience related to products and technologies utilized in the cardiovascular space required

  • Established relationships/network of Interventional Cardiologists and Cath Lab staff in the Salt Lake City territory preferred

  • Ability to advance sales process with customers required

  • Ability to work in a team environment required

  • Availability for emergent patient care required

  • Experience delivering demonstrations and successful trainings

  • Ability to travel 50% within territory required

  • Conduct duties and responsibilities in accordance with all state and federal laws and regulations governing the medical device industry required

EO/AA This position has the responsibility of performing routine electrocardiography procedures throughout the hospital. The incumbent will also provide Holter Monitor hook-ups as needed for patients. Responsibilities * Completes electrocardiograph readings on patients as requested by various departments within the hospital. * Completes lead placement, calibration and operation of a Holter Monitor. * Operates sophisticated computerized data acquisition equipment used in obtaining electrocardiograms of patients undergoing various stress procedures. * Performs medical procedures involving treadmill and bicycle exercise tolerance tests, Thallium, Muga, and oxygen consumption stress tests. * Assists the stress test proctor in monitoring patients throughout the course of the procedure. * Participates in the training of other cardiac technicians on special procedures. * Maintains accurate logs of patient information regarding electrocardiograph readings, Holter requests and cardiac studies. * Prepares and processes paperwork from electrocardiograph readings for the physician's review. * Prepares and processes billing paperwork, and assists in maintaining filing cards and patient folders. * Performs minor maintenance and cleaning of equipment, and restocks supplies. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities * Demonstrated potential ability to perform the essential functions as outlined above. * Ability to provide care to the population served. * Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development. * The ability to assess data regarding the patient's status. * Ability to provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual. * Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills. Qualifications Qualifications Required * This is an entry level position. Licenses Required * Basic Life Support Health Care Provider card through American Heart Association or obtain within one month of hire. * Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department. Qualifications (Preferred) Preferred * Some positions may require Certification as a Cardiographic Technician or certification within six months of employment. Working Conditions and Physical Demands Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation. * This position involves intensive work that may exert up to 100 pounds and may consistently require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects, such as medical equipment, or patients while providing medical care.
