Under the direct supervision of the site physician or physician extender, performs various duties related to stress testing which include but are not limited to: patient preparation, assisting with the administration of exercise and pharmacological stress tests, IV insertion, ECG placement and interpretation, Holter monitor placement (where applicable). Documenting patient information in the EMR, and demonstrate teamwork by communicating effectively and working cooperatively with others to optimize job performance and foster productive, working relationships. Review patient history to determine appropriate testing, including women of child-bearing age.
Obtain and document routine vital signs. Be knowledgeable about and assist with the various types of testing conducted in the cardiac diagnostic sites. Integrate knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum, to include patient and family education All patient care and interactions are patient and family centered.
Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others. Has respect for and understanding of other clinical disciplines. Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery.
Cardiac Stress Technician Certification or equivalent certification, or LPN, or EMT-Paramedic, or Exercise Physiology degree, or Exercise Science degree
Documentation of ECG competency, or pass ECG competency at onboarding. IV certification
Where applicable i.e. LPN
Proficient in English
Strong organizational and analytical skills. Strong Outpatient Cardiac Stress Tech.
Bachelors or Masters degree in related minimum required field
