A sonographer is also known as a diagnostic medical sonographer or an ultrasound technician.
Additional Job Description Education: Graduation from a school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Work Experience 0-2 years. Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
