VIEW JOBS 10/10/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-08T00:00 Under the direction of the Clinical Studies Core Manager, the Laboratory Animal Resources Study Coordinator is responsible for performing a variety of day-to-day activities to help organize and schedule animal research across multiple studies. The Study Coordinator's duties will vary depending on the projects at any given time within the Laboratory Animal Resources (LAR) unit. Routine tasks will include working closely with faculty and research staff as well as the LAR supervisors and staff for animal research study planning that includes: * Project budgeting * Coordination of animal orders * Scheduling housing and procedure space including possible hospital space and access * Assisting with IACUC, BUA and Client Consents, identifying and coordinating clinical experts as needed to assist with projects, * Following projects from conception to completion to provide assistance with unexpected changes Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. * Previous experience in Animal Research required. * The ability to collect and maintain accurate records in both written and digital form is essential. * The ability to assist in day-to-day activities and communication across multiple research projects under several Principal Investigators. * Experience in Veterinary Clinical Medicine is required. The ability to work with a variety of species of animal is essential. * Experience in animal handling/restraint, and an understanding of biological sample collection and processing is required. * Strong interpersonal skills; strong organizational skills; strong ability to manage several projects at once. * Ability to lift up to 90 lbs on an occasional basis with or without reasonable accommodation. * Must be a self starter.
