Ocala Health is the health organization which encompasses Ocala Regional Medical Center, a 222-bed facility located in the heart of Ocala, and West Marion Community Hospital, a 138 bed hospital located in West Marion County. The organization includes the only Commission on Cancer approved cancer center in Marion County and inpatient Joint Care Center. It offers a host of medical services including bariatric surgery, cardiac and vascular, emergency, neurological and rehabilitation services and a variety of outpatient services

Ocala Health has 3 Cardiac Catheterization and 1 Electrophysiology Laboratories. We hold the highest quality ranking (4Star) from the NCDR and perform an array of diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures including complex PCI, CTO, Rotablator, Impella, device implantation (including leadless) and TAVR. Additionally, we provide complex ablation services utilizing both radiofrequency and cryoablation.

In addition to fully supporting our community's cardiovascular healthcare needs Ocala Health supports our community by offering employment opportunities for healthcare workers, such as RN's, Cardiovascular Technologists and Radiology Technologists.

Responsible for working as a team member with other Cardiac Cath lab (CCL) personnel and physicians in providing the technical expertise necessary to perform procedures required in the CCL. The maintenance of the CCL in all respects lies with each staff member.

He/She is responsible for providing a safe and meaningful service to the patient. To this end (s)he must be familiar with all necessary equipment involved in performing such duties, and be able to operate such equipment when needed. He/she must have knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, hemodynamics and sterile technique.

He/she must have a good understanding of the whole scope of procedures performed. He/she is responsible for providing the physician alternative techniques for successful completion of the procedure. Is expected to act upon his/her own initiative in the operation of the CCL.

Minimum 2-year Associate Degree


Current RT state license, or Current RCIS certification


1-3 years preferred

Working under the supervision of a nurse, the Nurse Tech performs various patient care activities necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. The position's tasks and responsibilities include: * Bathes, dresses/undresses patients assist with personal hygiene. * Serves and collects food trays. Assists with patient feeding. * Transports, positions and drapes patients for exams and treatments. * Assists patients in ambulating. * Takes and records vital signs, weights and I & O. * Performs non sterile dressing changes. * Passes and collects bed pans. * Changes bed linens. * Unit Secretary duties * Provides encouragement, support and comfort to patients and family members. * Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. * Provides age and culturally appropriate care. * Orients and mentors new staff members. * Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. High School Graduate or equivalent required. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association required. Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training program required. 6 months experience required. Florida Certification as a Nurse Assistant requiredWorking knowledge of medical terminology required . Customer service abilities including effective listening skills. Ability to quickly make decisions to report patient condition with minimal supervision.
