Job Summary
Responsible for promoting a culture in which the voices representing people with lived mental health and substance use experiences and recovery become part of the institution. Promoting a recovery-oriented system of care. Serving as a member advocate; providing support for staff and members during emergencies as well as in outpatient and inpatient settings. Serving as a mentor/role model demonstrating competency in recovery, effective coping skills, and self-help strategies. The CARA recovery support worker will focus on supporting the recovery efforts of parents of member referred to the CARA program.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school Diploma or GED
Peer Support Specialist certification
Valid State's Driver's License
Current or past consumer of mental health or co-occurring behavioral health services
2 years success within personal recovery model
Ability to utilize individual and group skills
Knowledge of local community behavioral health services
