Purpose of Role: As the Capital Sales Engineer, drive sales of capital equipment to mining companies and EPC firms in the USA, emphasizing complete solutions and leveraging industry knowledge for company growth.

Responsible for meeting sales objectives and identifying business opportunities, engaging early in projects to understand needs, build relationships, mitigate risks, and maximize upselling. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are essential for seamless engagement with local business units and key stakeholders, critical for success in this role within Weir's comprehensive solution approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Leadership: Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve business objectives and market share growth.

    Emphasize solution-oriented selling and promote new technologies, positioning the company as a comprehensive provider of integrated solutions. Create sales presentations, proposals, and contracts to ensure seamless conversion and risk control, leveraging internal resources

  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including mining companies, EPC firms, consultancy firms, and professional associations.

    Leverage industry connections to identify business opportunities and partnerships. Collaborate with clients and decision-makers to understand their challenges and processes, introducing and positioning our solutions effectively

  • Communication: Effectively communicate the value proposition of our capital equipment portfolio, highlighting comprehensive solutions. Collaborate with marketing to develop targeted messaging and participate in tradeshows

  • Organization and Planning: Develop and implement sales plans and initiatives to support company objectives.

    Manage resources, budgets, and timelines efficiently. Coordinate with internal teams for seamless execution of sales strategies

  • Travel: Willingness to travel extensively to meet with clients, attend industry events, and support sales initiatives. Up to 50% travel is expected.

  • Measurements: Ensure sales performance meets business financial objectives like Orders, Revenue Growth, and Margins.

    Monitor KPIs such as Pipeline metrics, Conversion Rate, Customer Satisfaction, Market share expansion, Team performance, Leadership effectiveness, and Forecast Accuracy. Uphold Safety and Weir's Core Values

  • Dynamic strategist: Skilled in leadership, communication, and interpersonal relations, with a strategic mindset for achieving results in dynamic environments

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, or a related field

  • Proven experience in capital sales within the mining and industrial sectors (+10 years)

  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with international engineering firms promoting mineral processing technologies or industrial equipment
