The Opportunity

The Capital Markets Operations Specialist leads Bryn Mawr Trust in its goal to enhance the value of traditional banking by supporting the Capital Markets department as they provide interest rate hedging (IR), foreign exchange services (FX), and trade finance products (TF) to BMT's customer base. This position will be a key support person to the Capital Markets Operations Manager, Managing Director of Capital Markets, and associated internal departments interacting with the Capital Markets team.

This position will be based in Devon, PA.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide full transaction life-cycle support to the Capital Markets Sales & Trading Desk

  • Manage and administer IR and FX transactions by performing middle office and risk management functions according to industry best practices

  • Confirm and settle Foreign Exchange spot and derivative trades in accordance with the FX 60 Best Practices

  • Perform review and approval of BMT's OFAC filters with regards to Foreign Exchange payments to comply with BMT's BSA/AML Policy

  • Investigate and resolve all payment issues and outstanding reconcilement items with internal and external customers and counterparties

  • Verify and settle monthly Interest Rate Derivative (IR) Payment Activity

  • Support of collateral management activities: review daily MTM reports and collateral movements with Institutional Counterparties and prepare daily wires and accounting entries

  • Assist in the preparation, delivery, collection, verification, and inventory of derivative documentation

  • Perform reconcilement of the Capital Markets GL accounts

  • Verify invoices for the department and process payments

  • Produce accurate and timely risk management and performance management reports related to all aspects of Capital Markets product lines

  • Assist with vendor risk management and model risk management for the Capital Markets department

  • Assist in complying with internal and external audit and regulatory review of operations

  • Review and update operational procedures as required aid in policy enhancement and adherence

  • Interact with internal and external customers to provide requested information on a regularly scheduled and ad-hoc basis

  • Provide back-up for senior members of the Capital Markets Operations staff

  • Perform ad-hoc projects assigned by the Manager

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and accurately to accomplish the responsibilities of this position while always striving to identify and implement workflow efficiencies

  • Detail oriented individual with strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills

  • Self-motivated with a desire to grow professionally

  • Professional knowledge and understanding of Capital Markets products which are sold by a regional financial institution

  • Foreign Exchange back-office especially relating to confirmations and settlements

  • Knowledge of SWIFT messaging and formatting for confirmations, payments, advices, and statements

  • Knowledge of FCA/MCA processing

  • Understanding and application of SOX controls

  • BSA/AML best practices with regards to OFAC screening third party payments

  • Knowledge of cash position management, Foreign Exchange, Derivative, investment security operations, related accounting principles and bank operations.

  • Knowledge of collateral management operations

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and practices

  • Principles of financial administration including data processing accounting applications; modern office practices, procedures, methods and equipment

  • Problem analysis and decision-making skills

  • Strong risk management and problem-solving skills

  • Good math aptitude

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint

Preferred Experience/Education:

  • College Degree is preferred

  • Two or more years' experience in an accounting or finance environment.

  • Proficient in the use of: Microsoft Windows operating system, Bloomberg, Front and Back Office trading systems (Chatham, B&F, Derivative Path, Wall Street, FSS, Calypso, Mysis, SS&C, and/or systems like them etc.)

This contributor personally performs audits of the company's governance, risk and control policies, processes and procedures to assess compliance and identify opportunities for improvement. In addition to reporting on the design and implementation of financial, operational and compliance reporting controls, the Audit Manager adds value by proposing recommendations for improvement based on best practices. As an Audit Leader, this role mentors junior staff, adds to the knowledge capital of the audit activity, reviews the audit programs and work of both internal and contracted auditors and manages the interaction between contracted auditors and BMTC business management. This position will be based in HAVERTOWN, PA. Responsibilities: * Support the Chief Audit Officer in the completion of the Audit Risk Assessment, the development of the Annual Audit Plan and the updates of audit programs and tools. * Execute the assigned audits and tests by performing and documenting the completion of required procedures, analyzing results and reviewing potential findings and recommendations with the Chief Audit Officer. Lead all client meetings on assigned audits and serve as a resource to junior staff. * Serves as the day-to-day liaison with co-sourcing partners by facilitating communication between the external firms and BMTC businesses, approving their audit programs and reviewing engagement work papers and reports. * Continually advance personal and group professional development by seeking out relevant webinars and learning experiences to advance knowledge of relevant regulations, application of professional standards and job-related skills. Serve as the training coordinator for the audit activity. * Updates all audit programs to ensure that prior issues, SOX controls testing, and changes in the operating environment are reflected in scopes, programs and procedures. * Represents and advocates the audit activity both internally and externally. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in business discipline required. Accounting, audit or finance majors preferred. Graduate degree in accounting or finance preferred. * 5-10 years of audit experience with 3-5 years in bank compliance within the banking practice of a public accounting / professional services firm or within a bank. * 2-3 years of supervisory or vendor management experience is preferred. * Holds certification as a CIA, CAMS or CRCM or commitment to attain at least one of the above within the first year of employment. * Detailed knowledge of banking regulations required. Competence in trust regulations preferred. * Strong analytical, written/verbal communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint required. Familiarity with an audit management application preferred. * Thrives in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with commitment to time and quality goals.
