  • Be directly involved in financing Opendoor's expansion

  • Be involved in the launch of an entirely new asset class within residential real estate

  • Develop a deep understanding of all parts of the Opendoor business model by building and maintain financial analyses and forecasts

  • Partner with teams throughout the organization to evaluate the attractiveness of new products and strategies

  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners - lenders, investors, lawyers, accountants, etc.

  • Design new systems and work with our engineering team to make business processes more efficient, more automated, and more accurate

We're excited about you because you have:

  • 2-4 years in Investment Banking, Management Consulting, or Private Equity

  • Strong understanding of financial statements and concepts

  • Strong familiarity with Excel

  • Excitement about working in a fast-paced and constantly-changing environment

  • Analytical mindset with high attention to detail

  • Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work independently with limited direction

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively

  • Willingness to take ownership and drive projects to completion

Great but not required:

  • Knowledge of advanced analytical tools like Mode or Looker

  • Familiarity with debt and ABS structures

  • Experience with SQL or Python

VIEW JOBS 11/10/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-08T00:00 JOB PURPOSE Serve as a senior team member of the newly formed Merger and Acquisitions group. This group will focus on providing middle market growth companies in the Western U.S with investment banking advisory services (buy-side, sell-side, and private capital raising). While working on transactions independently, the group will also collaborate closely with Umpqua Bank Professionals to identify and cultivate future Capital Markets opportunities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Originate transactions and collaborate with Umpqua Bank professionals on emerging opportunities. * Lead and manage all aspects of transaction execution from "pitch" to closing. * Develop and maintain client and prospect relationships by focusing on long-term strategy and objectives. * Proactively develop and present high-quality M&A analysis and strategic ideas to prospects and clients. * Establish and maintain relationships with west coast service providers (lawyers, accountants, investment bankers), and financial sponsors. * Develop strong relationships across the Umpqua Bank franchise to help drive new opportunities and expand the Umpqua brand. * Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES none REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field. Master's degree preferred. * 15+ years of relevant experience at a reputable investment banking firm. * Demonstrated experience in leading and managing deal teams. * Considerable experience in pitching, structuring, and executing strategic M&A transactions. * Developed knowledge base in many industries with the skills to develop proficiencies in other industries. * An extensive network of well established relationships with companies, service providers, and capital sources. * Strong track record of developing meaningful and influential client relationships. * Exceptional communications skills. * Well organized with strong problem-solving skills. * Proficiency with personal computers and related software packages such as Word and Excel, and other business machines PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS * Office environment – no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands. * Frequent travel.
