The consumer travel segment is a $1 Trillion global market that is underfinanced relative to other key consumer verticals.

The Capital Markets Analyst is a proactive, adaptive, quick learner who can prioritize an evolving, complex workload in an exciting environment. This is a high growth opportunity that will play an instrumental role in UpLifts development. This person will work closely with key leaders in the business. Be a part of the team responsible for all aspects of capital markets, risk analysis and coordinating with lending, credit, data science, compliance, analytics team and new products team.



Responsibilities:
  • Own the debt facility and bank financing models and due diligence processes
  • Articulate UpLifts capital markets story for internal and external stakeholders
  • Be the financial expert on UpLifts capital markets
  • Build complex financial analyses and make strategic recommendations to influence UpLifts capital markets model and roadmap
  • Work cross-functionally with UpLift executives to optimize the capital markets strategy
  • Become a leader in a fast-growing, ever-expanding team

Requirements

  • 4+ years experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or an analytical finance-related job
  • Demonstrated proficiency in complex financial analysis
  • Ability to glean insights from data and make strategic recommendations
  • Attention to detail and a strong drive to get to the bottom of things
  • Ability to work on a cross-functional team
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Knowledge of SQL or R is a plus
  • Passionate about finance & fintech

Silicon Valley Bank and its parent, SVB Financial Group (collectively "SVB"), provide diversified financial services to clients of all sizes and stages in the technology, life science, venture capital/private equity and premium wine industries. SVB Capital is the venture capital investment arm of SVB, which focuses on funds management. SVB Capital manages funds (primarily venture capital funds) on behalf of third party limited partners and SVB. The SVB Capital family of funds is comprised of $4.5 plus billion in funds of funds and direct venture funds. This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a highly motivated, detailed oriented individual who has an interest in the venture capital industry to not only work on venture funds, but also work with reporting and control requirements related to a publicly held financial institution. As the Financial Analyst, you will be involved in the finance operations of the stand-alone funds and also help with operational risk for SVB Capital. Under direction from SVB Capital management, and reporting to a finance team manager, responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Finance Operations The day to day accounting function at SVB Capital is outsourced to a third party administrator. Due to that, this position will allow for an increased emphasis on analysis and reporting and decreased focus on transactional processing: * Assist the finance and accounting team with accounting close review and in preparation of periodic reporting to corporate (SVB) and limited partner reports and financial statements * Assist with drafting regulatory and compliance sections of due diligence questionnaires for fundraising exercises * Respond to compliance inquiries from limited partners * Create financial and operational procedures with respect to SVB Capital's contractual obligations to investors * Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and liaise with Internal Audit for quarterly testing and compliance * Assist with annual audits and tax reporting * Assist with direct fund valuation analysis Investment & Fund Operations * Responsible as one point of contact for maintaining and producing all SVB Capital regulatory data on investments and SVB Capital's operations * Prepare and manage policies and desk procedures governing SVB Capital * Assist with investment onboarding by gathering key investment attributes and investment documents * Compile and maintain SVB Capital investment data according to Regulation Banking Regulations * (Regulation Y and others) * Work closely with SVB's regulatory relations, risk group, internal audit, legal and compliance with respect to various examinations of SVB Capital * Manage Side letter compliance Administrative Duties * Various administrative tasks as needed by the legal and finance teams, including processing of invoices, and managing inter-company payables/receivables * SVB Capital Team projects such as assisting with event planning and coordinating team events.
