Friday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Job Summary

A Teller is often the face of Capital Bank to the customer, as tellers interact with a majority of the customers who visit financial centers. A Teller creates a positive customer experience while providing a variety of services involving the receipt and payment of money.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Teller responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ethically represent Capital Bank in all interactions

  • Work within established policies, procedures and guidelines and embrace our FirstPower culture of candor, change, inclusion and teamwork

  • Provide award-winning customer service with a positive attitude

  • Plan and organize effectively to complete all tasks and responsibilities

  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrate knowledge of available products and services

  • Follow up on opportunities to retain, expand and deepen customer relationships

  • Ask questions and employ listening and communication skills effectively to uncover customer needs and make referrals to the appropriate contacts

  • Anticipate and prepare appropriate responses for common customer reactions

  • Demonstrate exceptional teamwork and potentially mentor new employees

Requirements Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Previous teller/cashier experience preferred

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds in coin or currency

  • Ability to learn and follow financial center operation and security procedures

Skills

  • Ability to sell products and services to meet sales goals

  • Ability to manage multiple and/or conflicting responsibilities

  • Ability to promote the appropriate company image and maintain a professional image

  • Basic computer skills with knowledge of email functions and Microsoft Office

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Good aptitude for math

  • Outstanding customer services skills including researching and resolving customer issues

This position requires compliance with the S.A.F.E Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and all related regulations. Ongoing employment is contingent upon meeting all such requirements. The Financial Center Manager manages all financial center employees and supervises day-to-day operations of the financial center while ensuring safety, operational soundness and excellent service levels. This position is also responsible for the sales culture in the financial center and the development of new and existing customers. Duties and Responsibilities: * Sales-oriented with the ability to: a) Plan, organize and motivate and lead employees in providing a sales and customer service oriented environment b) Host weekly staff sales meetings to review sales efforts and deposit growth goals and results; lead the team to create new and innovative ways to ensure unit's goals are achieved * Manages all facets of the financial center including but not limited to: a) The safety and soundness of the financial center and of the day to day operations of the branch b) Provide training, guidance and support to teammates c) Supervising all staff; appropriately delegates duties and tasks, training for staff on all policies and procedures d) Underwrites and authorizes loans within company guidelines e) Safety/security issues and compliance training f) Creates work schedules, communicates information on a timely basis ensuring comprehension and work areas are maintained per company policy * Documents calls, referrals and cross selling opportunities and efforts; actively seeking, referring and retaining account relationships * Creates quarterly and annual reports on business unit operations verses budgetary goals for supervisor Assists subordinates in resolution of difficult and or past due accounts * Completes, passes and maintains an up-to-date status for all positional and company required compliance and regulatory courses by assigned due date(s) * Participates in special projects and assignments and performs other duties as assigned Requirements Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics Advanced knowledge of First Tennessee Retail Financial Services; Thorough knowledge of financial center operations and fundamental understanding of general bank operations; Proficient understanding of the components of Financial Planning, Deposit products, Credit products, Small Business products, Investment and Insurance products (depending on certification levels), and Alternative Delivery Options Ability to manage others and offer coaching and direction setting related to performance Consistently meets or exceeds individual and financial center sales and customer service goals Ability to disseminate information and guidelines clearly to employees and check for understanding Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as a team member; Strong follow-up Manages complaints and problems to the satisfaction of customer's and financial center employees Awareness of financial market trends (e.g., general state of market, rates, consumer concerns) Ability to identify needs and make appropriate recommendations based on customer profiles. Ability to effectively coach and counsel financial center employees, and to recognize the when each is required. Willingness to acquire Wealth Management licenses is strongly encouraged and may be required as indicated by market conditions and competitive environment. results * Demonstrates understanding of the loyalty and profitability link by actively working to build customer value and retain profitable customer relationships * Uses creative problem solving in customizing products, features and combinations to deliver personalized service without sacrificing profitability * Reviews customer accounts, portfolio reports and market information to identify
