Novelis is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Project Scheduling & Budgeting Expert to join its Global Project Management Office (GPMO) for Capex Projects. The Scheduling & Budgeting Lead will be responsible for performing quantitative analysis on project budgets and schedules, including the development and implementation of Monte Carlo simulations to identify potential project risks and uncertainties. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for checking the quality of the project schedule using DCMA 14 or similar assessment tools. The Lead will work closely with project managers, stakeholders, and other members of the GPMO team to develop and implement strategies to optimize project budgets and schedules, and to ensure that project goals are met on time and within budget.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project budgets to confirm completeness of estimates, defined assumptions and identify opportunities for optimization

  • Develop and implement Monte Carlo simulations to quantify the project risk exposure identify potential project risks and uncertainties and project probability of meeting target schedules

  • Develop financial models and forecasts to help project managers make informed budgeting decisions

  • Check the quality of the project schedule using DCMA 14 or similar assessment tools.

  • Analyze project schedules to identify areas of potential delays, critical path analysis, and opportunities for optimization

  • Develop risk assessment models and identify key risk factors that may impact project budgets and schedules

  • Monitor project performance against budget and schedule targets and identify areas where performance may be falling short

  • Communicate the results of analysis to project managers, stakeholders, and other members of the project team through reports, presentations, and other communication materials

  • Collaborate with project managers and other members of the project team to develop strategies to optimize project budgets and schedules

  • Analyze project data and prepare dashboards summarizing the performance at the portfolio and project levels

  • Develop and implement project controls processes and procedures to ensure that project goals are met on time and within budget

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in project scheduling and budgeting of $100M+ complex capital construction projects

  • Strong analytical skills, including experience with Monte Carlo simulations and other quantitative analysis techniques

  • Experience using scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6

  • Experience with DCMA 14, Deltek Acumen Fuse or similar scheduling assessment tools

  • Experience developing visualizations utilizing systems like Microsoft PowerPoint and/or Power BI

  • Deep understanding of project management principles and best practices

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Relevant certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 are preferred
