Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Capacity Planning Engineer with strong knowledge in IT Infrastructure Engineering, Capacity and Performance for Compute, Storage, Network, and Business Service Management project deliveries across a hybrid environment.

You would lead multiple capacity and performance projects from inception through completion, while adhering to scope, schedule, quality and budget for capacity and performance efforts. You should possess strong communication, presentation, and relationship building skills and must be comfortable working with technology and business partners across the organization in a reciprocal way.

The individual in this role will be part of the Service Delivery Organization within Technology Information and Operations and will work with multi-functional teams to deliver the infrastructure capacity, plan for capacity and performance management, and figure out requirements to optimize deployments to private and public cloud.

Major Responsibilities:

  • 5-7 years of exposure to IT system integration as a Capacity or IT Engineering Senior Lead/Manager with ITIL knowledge

  • 5 years of capacity management and/or technical program management experience

  • Support multiple business services and solutions to identify service level and capacity requirements and have experience with private and public cloud.

  • Respond and support business teams on systems functionality, improvements and objectives

  • Drive alignment around capacity management standard methodologies, including service design and performance assessment, data collection and analysis, and reporting standards

  • Having strong social skills is necessary, due to the dynamic nature of collaboration with customers and other engineering teams

  • Good Programming, scripting, query and data analysis skills

  • Strong time management, goals setting and task prioritization abilities

  • Proficiency in reporting project progress through dashboard presentations, project metrics, trend analysis, executive reporting

  • Excellent communication, leadership and organization skills

  • Ability to get results independently and in a multi-functional team oriented environment

Responsibilities

  • Actively identify, resolve, and raise capacity planning challenges.

  • Experienced in capacity management and infrastructure engineering for distributed server environments, as well as network and distributed storage environments.

  • Responsibilities will include server performance analysis, capacity reporting and analysis, capacity management tool administration for Teamquest, and capacity and performance management issue resolution.

  • Able to provide consultation with business solutions group area and the Infrastructure & Operations Engineering and Operations teams to resolve capacity and performance issues.

  • Provide right-sizing and optimization for applications migrating to Private Cloud and AWS and in support of Data Center Consolidation

  • Support DevOps and partner with application developers to find the best way to scale infrastructure, characterize transactional throughput and response time, reduce resource consumption and shorten request latency and understand roadmaps.

  • Support design, development, and implementation of automated processes for gathering, populating and maintaining capacity and system utilization data..

  • Ability to develop advanced queries and reports for management on critical metrics to improve the process effectiveness, efficiency, and data accuracy

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of common information security & risk management frameworks such as ISO 27001, ITIL, COBIT, and NIST is preferred

  • Deep familiarity with capacity management for large, heterogeneous workloads

  • Strong workload and performance analysis skills and experience optimizing compute sharing across batch and online workloads

  • Strong Working Knowledge of a variety of technologies including but not limited to Compute, Amazon, Azure, VMware, VDI and architecture strategies to ensure high reliability i

  • Knowledge and skills in SQL/Oracle, VMWare, cloud computing, Windows, Linux admin skills, scripting, reporting, MS Office, distributed server capacity/performance management (preferred), preferred experience with the following tools: Teamquest Capacity Management, AWS, VCenter, Splunk, Tableau, and application performance management tools (Dynatrace).

Job Summary: The Capital Planning Analyst, AVP will be part of the Capital Management & Resolution Planning team. The individual will be responsible for managing workstreams to prepare documentation for the supervisory-mandated Comprehensive Capital Analysis & Review (CCAR), Dodd-Frank Act Stress Test (DFAST) and Resolution Plan (RP) regulatory submissions. The team is responsible for the end-to-end documentation production for the Annual Capital Plan and Resolution Plan, from planning report content and timeline, up until finalization and submission to the regulators. Additionally, the individual will support internal reporting that is required for capital management and capital adequacy processes. Duties will include partnering with stakeholders on documentation content, providing drafting support to subject matter experts (SMEs), and coordinating responses to regulatory examinations, all while applying knowledge of regulatory rules and regulations. The team has great visibility to senior management as its work product is regularly used in discussions with management-level governance committees, Board of Directors and supervisory authorities. Major Responsibilities Include: * Develop an understanding of CCAR, DFAST and RP regulatory requirements and processes * Support internal management reporting for capital management and capital adequacy processes, including quarterly Capital Adequacy Process (CAP) reports * Facilitate relationships with Lines of Business, Finance, and Risk Management functions across the company to prepare and timely deliver various reporting * Own and drive workstreams within the enterprise-wide stress testing and resolution planning production processes by partnering with SMEs to compile narrative content and integrate financial projection data * Manage end-to-end development of Annual Capital Plan's accompanying methodology narratives related to Pre-Provision Net Revenue (balance sheet and related net interest income; noninterest revenue; and noninterest expense) * Prepare Annual Capital Plan and Resolution Plan for governance committee approvals by performing quality control review of narrative content and data interface * Understand forecasting processes, key assumptions and model inputs/outputs and how they tie into capital planning * Understand material entities, core business lines, critical operations and operational interconnectedness considerations in resolution * Prepare for regulatory examinations by collaborating with SMEs to draft responses and collect relevant supporting documentation * Liaise with second line and third line to support risk and controls assessment updates and documentation requests * Develop presentation materials for senior management and provide analytical support on ad hoc business initiatives Union Bank, N.A.
