Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio is currently seeking a Material Handler to join our team at the North Canton Outlet Store.

As a material handler, you will move donated materials, all salvage commodities/sorts, refuse, equipment/fixtures or other designated materials on/off trucks and sort them into the designated locations within the store. You will also assist in all areas of the salvage sorting process and cross train to cover other specified job descriptions as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Processes quality donations quickly, sorting and preparing of all materials for sale in the store while meeting production goals

  • Assists in stock rotation and maintaining of shelves/other displays

  • Utilizes personal computer software to input starting and ending cash amounts and maintain accurate customer records

  • Assists store team leadership and the training of new personnel

  • Assists in maintaining a clean work area

  • Adheres to all safety practices, procedures and policies

  • Manually, using hand truck or pallet jack, performs various material handling duties on the dock, facility or exterior areas of the store

  • Weighs and records Gaylord's, Containers and Hoppers to track diversion pounds

  • Provides appropriate customer service on outlet floor

  • Loads and unloads trailers on the loading dock

  • Places trash into the proper container and moves container to proper location (including outside designations) for disposal or dispose into compactor

Specific Experience/Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with operation of personal computers preferred

  • Ability to operate all tipping equipment

  • Ability to use all appropriate safety PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and follow all safety practices

  • Know different shades and tones of color

  • Know merchandise within a variety of categories

Basic Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Ability to work varied hours, evenings, weekends and holidays a must perform physical requirements of position including but not limited to: constant standing, constant bilateral reach and handling ability; constant fingering and pinch grip; requires constant ability to lift/carry up to 10 lbs.; may require constant shoulder height reaching with either hand and firm grasp; frequent bending; may squat; requires frequent ability to push/pull less than 20 lbs.

Eurofins Test America is searching for an Operations Manager in North Canton, OH. Manages the day-to-day operational activities of an analytical laboratory. Directly supervises Department Managers. The Operations Manager coordinates the efforts of multiple analytical operating groups. Provides strategic and technical assistance to the Laboratory Director to evaluate, derive and implement longer term strategy for operational improvements in laboratory's processes and systems. Operations Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: * Lead team, schedule, and train employees * Ensure adherence to highest quality and efficiency standards in laboratory operations * Ensure coverage and performance * Foster morale and teamwork * Supervises department managers * Working with/through management groups, coordinates the work of analytical laboratory groups and assists in setting work priorities in an effort to minimize costs, scheduling conflicts or delays. * Assists the Laboratory Director to evaluate equipment/methods and makes recommendations on the purchase and implementation of analytical equipment and/or methods. * Assists with the generation of the associated Capital Expenditures information required to pursue equipment or analytical methodology improvements. * Reviews Laboratory Loading Forecasts to evaluate resources, capacity and their ability to meet On Time Delivery (OTD) goals of greater than 90%. * Works with management group to manage status reports for all current projects and initiatives. * Works with technical resources to evaluate, review and develop standard operating procedures and prepares recommendations as the need arises for new or revised analytical methods. * With the Client Services Organization and Laboratory Director, schedules and directs work to achieve established budget goals of the laboratory. * Meets and conducts regularly scheduled operations meetings to resolve scheduling conflicts and delivery issues. * Responsible for upholding and enforcing Company policies, including but not limited to, Quality, Safety, Standard Operating Procedures, Ethics and Harassment. * Expected to champion Health and Safety and assume ownership for the safety of those employees within her/his responsibility. * Supports the Human Resources function to ensure that all policies and programs are applied consistently throughout the laboratory; such as discipline and performance. * Responsible for personnel management, issue resolution, employee engagement, and professional development of the workforce. * Fulfills Laboratory Director Responsibilities as needed. * Accountable to understand budget process and necessary financial reports for the lab and to assist in process as needed. * Consult and collaborate with Operation Managers at other labs in an effort to maximize lab efficiencies. * Responsible for identifying training opportunities for lab operations and personnel.
