The Kitchen Supervisor will oversee all kitchen manufacturing processes focused on the efficient production of all edibles product lines by effectively managing operations with a team of Kitchen Assistants and Associates.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist with hiring, supervision and direction of Kitchen staff
Manufacture quality products, strictly following company SOPs
Ensure accurate and proper incorporation of extracts into products
Execute and supervise implementation of all product specification documents, recipes, and formulas
Supervise workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising safety or product integrity
Ensure all activities are in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations
Audit inventory regularly to ensure full compliance
Assist with integration of new equipment for production scaling
Build an engaged team through motivation, transparency, support, and guidance
Manage day-to-day operation of production area and team including staffing and capacity planning
Provide planning and forecasting documentation to help determine necessary resources

Other duties as assigned, or any reasonable request from any member of management
QUALIFICATIONS

General
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is required; post-secondary education is preferred
Experience infusing and emulsifying foods and other products required, working with cannabis oil infusion preferred
Food manufacturing or food chemistry experience or training
At least 3 years of experience in commercial food production from bench to scale up is preferred
At least 3 years of experience creating confections and pastries is preferred
At least 1 year of management experience within commercial kitchen or food production environment is strongly preferred
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Familiarity with all applicable federal and state regulations
Understanding of and adherence to FDA regulations
Understanding of and adherence to OSHA guidelines for workplace safety and hazardous chemicals
Ability to use standard office equipment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Proven track record of successfully training employees in productivity and safety
Excellent project management skills
Detail oriented with an eye on process improvement and optimization
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to manage high-stress situations, and to be flexible and adaptable when a situation requires
ServSafe Certification
Ability to work a varying schedule including nights, weekends, and overtime as necessary
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills both verbally and in writing
Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well as a group
Strong work ethic and sound judgment

Warehouse environment with artificial lighting and ventilation
Potential for mold exposure.
Potential for allergic reaction to or hypersensitivity to the marijuana plants
Carbon dioxide (CO2) may be encountered. CO2 can displace oxygen at high concentrations. CO2 exposure can cause symptoms such as headache, dizziness, rapid breathing, and increased heart rate; in extreme cases, unconsciousness and death can result.
The warehouse is properly ventilated, however, marijuana cultivation produces ozone from the chemical reaction of nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds, such as terpenes that are given off from the marijuana plant. Terpenes and nitric oxides can be associated with eye, skin and mucous irritation. In some people, ozone can cause decreased lung function and/or exacerbate pre-existing health effects, especially in workers with asthma or other respiratory complications. PPE in the form of respiratory protection may be recommended in certain parts of the warehouse.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: VERY LABOR INTENSIVE. Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 75 pounds (125 pounds with assistance), may include walking or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching. Moderate to loud exposure to noise.
