Mammoth is the leading cannabis manufacturing, distribution, and branding company in California.

The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented team player, responsible for reviewing month-end closes and reconciliations, preparing and reviewing financial statements and other reporting, monitoring and managing tax compliance, and managing day-to-day accounting assignments.


  • Review and managing general ledger and reconciliations

  • Review of month-end and year-end close

  • Establishing and monitoring internal controls

  • Preparation and review of accounting reports

  • Data entry, exporting and organizing

  • Accounting and tax project management

  • Performing budget vs. actual and other financial analyses

  • Taking on additional responsibilities as needed


  • Strong software skills including Excel and Quickbooks

  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Experience in tax filings and compliance (income, sales and use, business, etc.)

  • Experience in manufacturing or distribution and managing multiple entities


EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree (CPA is not required)

REWARDS: $80,000- $95,000 salary with opportunity to advance

JOB SUMMARY Mammoth Distribution seeks a self-motivated, professional Purchasing Accountant to join our fast-growing team. To be successful in this role, you must be a detail-oriented team player who will be responsible for maintaining relationships with all of our vendors, negotiating purchasing discounts, managing general accounting activities and ensuring that all purchases are properly approved and recorded. REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree ESSENTIAL DUTIES: * Identifies current and future vendors for the organization and ensures team members are consistently using approved vendors. * Establishes vendor usage protocols and ensures internal compliance across the organization. * Maintains effective relationships with vendors ensuring service fulfillment, account management, and continued favorable cost control opportunities. * Negotiates payment terms, volume discounts, and rebates with vendors. * Reviews contracts and negotiate favorable terms and updates accordingly. * Approves new vendors in accordance with organizational protocols. * Approves purchase requests. * Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. * Pays vendors by monitoring invoices; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and/or payment discrepancies; insuring credit is received when applicable; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments. * Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances; preparing checks. * Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions. * Maintains historical records by scanning and filing documents. * Disburses petty cash by recording entry; verifying documentation. * Ensure purchases are properly reported in the general ledger. * Seeks cost-saving opportunities through researching alternative vendors and solutions. * Performs general accounts payable activities as directed. * Takes on additional responsibilities as needed. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS * General accounting experience and knowledge * Exposure and experience with similar responsibilities * Advanced Microsoft Office Skills, especially Excel * Knowledge and/or experience with ERP solutions * Strong acumen in understanding and using a variety of technology * Ability to learn and utilize new technology * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Strong project management and problem-solving skills * Detail oriented and able to manage multiple competing priorities * Strong negotiation skills and comfort with a continuous negotiation process * Strong track record of effective collaboration in a fast-paced, objective focused environment PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Good vision and hearing * Clear speech and communication skills * Ability to work on a computer at least eight (8) hours per day * Able to lift up to 10 lbs.
