Job Summary:

Provide management and oversight of Cancer Support Services and the High Risk & Cancer Genetics Clinic.

Education:

Required:

BSN, Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Preferred:

Experience:

Required:

5 years' experience in oncology related area including experience as an educator

Required:

Proven understanding of oncology support service areas and excellent people skills.

Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration

Required:

RN license in State of Tennessee

Preferred:

Oncology-related certification.

Department Position Summary:

Directs day to day activities of the Cancer Support Services Department and the High Risk and Cancer Genetics Clinic including the Cancer Registry, Nurse Navigators, Social Workers, Dietitian and other program-related support services for the Erlanger Oncology Program. Provides direct oversight of assigned staff.

Collaborates with the Director of Oncology, key Mangers, physicians, and their respective staff and nursing units in coordination of care for the oncology patients. Designs and implements early detection and screening programs for the community. Designs and implements education in-services for oncology patients and their families.

Oversite of cancer-related data collection systems that meets the standards of accrediting agencies and disease-reporting agencies. Participates in institution activities, including quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives. Assists the Director to meet the Standards set forth by the American College of Surgeons � Commission on Cancer Accreditation and the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.

Available for public speaking as requested. Responsible for grant writing and collaboration with funding agencies outside of Erlanger Health to obtain financial support for screening programs for the uninsured population i.e. The Well Woman Program.

Responsible for the budget and budget variance of the assigned cost centers along with the responsibilities of the departmental evaluations, DNV requirements, departmental policies within PolicyStat, kronos, and disciplinary actions.
