The Division of Public Health Sciences at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Member (equivalent to Assistant or Associate Professor) level depending on qualifications. We seek candidates who share our goals to advance an understanding of the etiology of cancer and survivorship.
Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to molecular and genetic epidemiology, integrated tumor epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology; use of electronic health records, mobile technology, and other novel biomedical data sources.
The successful candidate will develop a dynamic independent research program and will join in collaborative multidisciplinary and translational endeavors pertinent to our mission of reducing cancer incidence, progression, and sequelae through the identification of risk determinants and translation of discoveries into preventive strategies. Applicants should have a doctoral (PhD or MD with MPH/MS) degree or equivalent training in cancer epidemiology (or a related discipline) and relevant research experience.
Fred Hutchs Division of Public Health Sciences is home to an extensive portfolio of population sciences research, large biospecimen and data repositories, a SEER cancer registry, a prevention center designed for intervention research, and a large multidisciplinary faculty. Fred Hutch, together with the University of Washington, Seattle Childrens, and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center with active training programs for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. Opportunities exist for joint and/or affiliate appointment in Fred Hutchs Divisions of Clinical Research, Human Biology, Basic Sciences, or Vaccine and Infectious Disease, as well the University of Washington, depending on mutual interest.

South Seattle College is committed to building a culturally diverse and pluralistic faculty committed to teaching and working in a multicultural environment. The College particularly seeks candidates interested in contributing to the diversity and inclusive excellence of the academic community through their teaching and outreach. The Basic & Transitional Studies Division serves a diverse group of students. ESL is part of South's basic skills program which includes instruction focusing on community, college, and career readiness as well as contextualized programs such as Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training (I-BEST). The basic skills program also includes instruction focusing on High School 21 +, ABE, and GED/College Prep, and the successful applicant will have some responsibility supporting these programs as well (particularly on behalf of English language learners, or ELLs, who participate in these programs). This tenure-track position is responsible for preparing and teaching courses at all levels of ESL, including contextualized ESL, academic ESL, service learning, and digital literacy. This will include instruction in all communicative skill areas (reading, writing, speaking, and listening). The successful candidates should also be prepared to join the small team of full-time ESL faculty in providing leadership in and advocacy for the ESL program and the BTS Division in instructional design and delivery through departmental, divisional, campus, and district initiatives.
