The Campus Service Worker position will perform custodial, janitorial maintenance, and cleaning of all of the facilities within the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. It is vital that this position provide a clean, safe, and secure environment for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The basic schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 3:00pm to 11:00pm. This position will occasionally be asked to work outside of their work schedule (i.e. weekends and special events) as needed.
This position is a full-time position that is non-exempt from FLSA regulations concerning overtime; entry level salary is $30,225 ($15.50/hour) plus an excellent fringe benefit package.
Education/Knowledge
Minimum Education High School or GED Required Licenses/Certification
Position requires a valid WV Driver's License.
Skills Required
Ability to read, write, and comprehend English as this position requires the incumbent to follow oral and written instruction;
Knowledge of custodial methods and procedures and the ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment;
Ability to maintain safe work methods;
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations;
Knowledge and ability to perform basic preventive maintenance tasks;
Physical coordination to use hand and power tools;
Reliable and trustworthy;
This position requires the incumbent to be able to climb ladders, lift up to 75 pounds regularly, and to stand, walk bend and stoop for 7.5 hours per day.

Sweep, scrub, mop, disinfect, wax and polish floors, hallways, stairs, elevators and other areas using both hand and power equipment. May be required to mix commercial disinfectants, germicidal detergents or other cleaning agents.
Clean and disinfect bathroom walls, floors, fixtures, stalls, mirrors, lavatories, commodes and urinals. Replenish and maintain all bathroom supplies.
Vacuum and shampoo carpets, rugs and upholstery using commercial vacuum cleaners and shampooers.
Dust and polish furniture, desks, tabletops, file cabinets, bookcases and other office and clinical furniture.
Empty and clean waste receptacles. Transport trash, waste and biohazard materials to appropriate disposal areas. Maintain recycling operation.
Wash and clean walls, ceilings, doors, windows radiators and ventilators. This includes all exterior windows at least once per year.
Rearrange and move office, clinic and laboratory furniture and equipment as required.
Set up appropriate furniture and materials for a variety of meetings, conferences, workshops and social functions located in the different campus buildings. May include the erection of small tents.
Change light bulbs, towel and soap dispensers as required. Check fire extinguishers on a regular basis.
May be required to operate a forklift or Genie lift.
Secure all buildings at end of shift.
Other related duties as assigned.
