Job Summary

Under the direction of the Administration, Campus security officers promote lawful behavior and protect the welfare of students, faculty and staff as a presence on campus or at school sponsored events. Performs foot patrols to monitor behavior, secure buildings and property, investigate disturbances, maintain order during events and enforce regulations. Monitor the physical safety of campus buildings by locking and unlocking doors, patrolling or monitoring using surveillance systems, and reporting suspicious behavior. May also be tasked with enforcing traffic and parking regulations. In emergency situations, campus security officers respond to the scene, provide first aid, and alert additional police or emergency personnel as appropriate. They maintain radio communication with other safety personnel and officers on campus, helping to coordinate emergency plans. They also write and submit incident reports to public safety supervisors or law enforcement agencies as appropriate. Other duties may include monitoring alarm systems and responding to alerts, training additional security officers and serving as crowd control at special events.

Candidates will need to complete CPR/First Aide Training, a Live Scan Background check and have a valid negative TB test from no later than 4 years prior to start date. All copies must be in English and legible.

• Certificate Copy (Certificate of completion of School Security Officer Training, meeting the requirements mandated by SB 1626 for Campus Security Personnel as defined in Education Code Section 38001.5)

• Certification (Proof of completion of POST certified P.C. 832 Course (Arrest, Search & Seizure))

• CPR/First Aid Certification

• Other (Provide copy of a California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services guard card)

• Proof of HS Graduation

• Resume
