The Personnel Commission announces an OPEN and PROMOTIONAL recruitment. This recruitment will result in the establishment of one integrated eligibility list.

Promotional candidates will have seniority points added to final passing scores (.25 of a point for every year of classified service up to a maximum of 5 points). This list will be used to fill current and future vacancies and will be active for one year or until cancelled. (The names of eligible candidates on the current list will be merged to the new list in accordance with final scores) There is currently ONE positions open at North Terrace School. This is an 8 hour/day, 10 month position. Under general direction of an assigned supervisor, assist in maintaining a safe, orderly and secure school site environment by monitoring campus buildings and grounds; assist in ensuring student compliance with school and district policies, rules, and regulations; and monitor and supervise students on campus and at school events.

Training and Experience:Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and one year of responsible experience working with students, in security, preferably involving contact with secondary-aged students.LicenseValid California Class C driver's license.Knowledge ofBasic methods and procedures of patrolling buildings and grounds.Basic methods of individual and group supervision.Techniques used in guiding and motivating students.Appropriate and effective approaches to discipline.Crowd and traffic control techniques.Adolescent behavior, behavior shaping and modification strategies and techniques.District, state and school laws, rules, policies and regulations related to campus security and safety.Basic record-keeping techniques.Health and safety regulations.Oral and written communication skills.Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.Ability toPatrol, monitor, and supervise campus activities to ensure the well-being and safety of students, staff, and visitors.Assure compliance with school and district policies and regulations
