Position Available: Year Round Hourly Rate or Pay Range: $18 per hour Application Deadline: Position open until filled.
The campus safety officer at Northland College plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of the campus community. This position involves patrolling assigned areas, responding to incidents, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
Responsibilities
Security Patrol and Incident Response:
Conduct routine patrols of campus buildings, grounds, and parking lots
Respond promptly to emergencies, accidents, and incidents
Address safety concerns and enforce campus policies
Emergency Preparedness:
Familiarize oneself with emergency response plans and protocols
Participate in drills and training sessions to ensure preparedness
Assist in maintaining emergency communication systems
Access Control and Safety Measures:
Monitor access points to campus facilities
Lock and unlock doors as needed
Ensure compliance with safety regulations
Community Engagement:
Build positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff
Promote safety awareness and encourage responsible behavior
Collaborate with campus stakeholders to enhance safety initiatives
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of incidents, patrols, and safety checks
Prepare incident reports and contribute to safety-related documentation
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or completion of a Law Enforcement Academy program in a relevant field (e.g. security management, criminal justice) OR equivalent work experience
Minimum of two years of experience in campus safety, security, or a related field
Knowledge of emergency-preparedness procedures and security technologies
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with diverse individuals
Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within a campus safety context
