JOB SUMMARY:
Under direction of the Assistant Director of Planning / Associate University Architect, the Campus Planner supports a wide variety of campus planning efforts with emphasis on master planning, facilities planning, space planning, and the management of feasibility studies for potential University developments/capital improvements. This position supports the development, update, and implementation of the Long-range Framework plan which serves as the guide for growth and physical development of the campus to advance the University's mission. This position provides professional planning assistance for a wide variety of efforts including site planning, transportation/mobility planning, wayfinding, etc. This position will also assist with mapping/GIS and management of planning data resources.
JOB DUTIES:
30% - Essential
Assists with the organization and coordination of efforts to develop, maintain, and implement campus master plans, particularly the Long-range Framework Plan. Facilitates or participates with internal and external committees, seeks input from the campus community, engages campus constituents and coordinates with external consultant teams in the development of campus planning products. Conducts studies and analyzes data to support campus planning efforts.
30% - Essential
a. Assist with feasibility studies for development/renovation proposals which establish vision, rationale, programmatic scope, and operational/financial feasibility of projects. Serves as project coordinator and resource support for project stakeholders, Planning Design & Construction staff, and external consultant teams.
b. Works with the Assistant Director of Planning to support the design of University facilities, landscapes, mobility networks, etc. Assists with site selection/site planning for capital improvements.
c. Assists Assistant Director of Planning in development of space planning solutions, space programs, and design concepts for in-house projects.
20% - Essential
a. Participates in PD&C design review processes. Assists with the review and evaluation all proposed campus developments, alterations and renovations to ensure that they comply with the stakeholder expectations, goals and guidelines set forth in the Long-range Framework Plan, campus standards, building code, accessibility requirements and relevant campus policies.
c. Assists in the procurement of professional architectural and engineering services and management of consultant teams engaged in the design of capital improvements.
20% - Essential
a. Assist in the creation of clear and compelling visualizations of development plans and design concepts involving University assets. Authors and presents campus planning documents, reports, presentations, and studies to campus leadership and stakeholder groups as needed.
b. Assists with integration of GIS in campus master planning and visualization of campus development scenarios.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range: ($ 65,000.00 - $ 85,000.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
