HOURLY RATE: $17.00/ hour up to 20 hours a week
JOB SUMMARY: Graduate Assistant will assist in the daily operations of the Office of Campus Engagement (OCE), with special focus in the areas of Lynchburg Late Night Programming, Weekend Programming, Student Judicial Board (SJB) and Campus Spirit/Traditions. The GA will support the work of OCE through advising, program management, benchmarking and assessment, and strategic planning and execution. All functions related to the position will be supported by the Assistant Director of Campus Engagement (or his/her designee).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Event Planning and Implementation
Coordinate the Lynchburg Late Night Program, working with clubs and organizations to plan, develop and host weekly events (Thursday evenings) that provide alternative entertainment for students. LLN programs must be held at least two weekends per month.
Create a schedule of Weekend Programming that is either independently planned or working with Outdoor Leadership Programming, SAB, and/or other departments, offices and organizations across campus. Weekend programming must be held at least two weekends per month.
Assist in the supervision of large campus wide events, such as Early Arrival Move in, Orientation, Dell Beach, Homecoming/Parent and Family Weekend, Founders Week, and other activities sponsored and/or hosted by the Office of Campus Engagement.

With the Assistant Director of Campus Engagement, develop a robust calendar of events aimed to build up campus spirit and traditions for students, including, but not limited to, Code Red Games, Senior Events, OctoberFest, St. Baldricks, Relay for Life, a Mile in Her Shoes, Dance Marathon, Special Olympics, and more.
Student Judicial Board
Develop and plan the fall, spring and transition retreat with SJB executive board
Alongside the Assistant Director of Campus Engagement, supervise the chairs of SJB
Contribute to implementation of all components of the student disciplinary process, including review of possible violations of the Honor and Student Conduct Codes, investigation of allegations, assignment of disciplinary charges and outcomes as needed, and provision of appropriate follow-up information, resources, or other assistance to support student success.
Provide direct oversight of the Student Judicial Board, to include assistance with recruitment, selection, and training of board members and regular attendance at weekly SJB meetings.
Assist the SJB with fundraising events throughout the year including the marketing of events and logistical support
Assist in the development and implementation of ongoing programs for students promoting integrity, positive citizenship, and personal responsibility.
Assist in the development and implementation of training and outreach programs for students, faculty, and staff about the Honor and Student Conduct Codes and Regulations and other restorative justice services, including but not limited to new Faculty Orientation, PA Orientation, DPT Orientation, and SOAR/Hornet Days.
Assist in the development and implementation of training opportunities for faculty and staff on alternative dispute resolution and restorative practices.
Assist in the facilitation of focus groups geared towards evaluating the disciplinary process, the Honor and Student Conduct Codes
Marketing
With the G.A. for Student Involvement, coordinate the development and publicizing of the Office of Campus Engagement's Buzz Calendar and Weekly Buzz email.
Develop creative marketing plans for events, and assist in the social media promotion for the Office of Campus Engagement, SJB, Lynchburg Late Nights, and Weekend Programming.
Institute methods of communication with SJB for the marketing of events and opportunities on campus.
General Duties
Hold twenty (20) office hours per week, recognizing that some weeks, position responsibilities may require more to successfully complete requirements. Additionally, late night and weekend hours will be required to manage the LLN and Weekend programs and organization activities/events. Office hours can and will be adjusted to meet the needs of these activities/programs.

Meet weekly with the Assistant Director of Campus Engagement
Attend weekly organization meetings, as assigned or available based on G.A. academic schedule.
Assist in daily activities of the Community Engagement office, the Community Development portfolio, and the University Experience and Student Success Division, through active participation on committees, portfolio initiatives, division-wide and university-wide initiatives.
Work collaboratively with the University Experience and Student Success Division, other campus colleagues, and/or committees and special projects, to achieve assigned functions, strategic plans, vision, and the mission of the University of Lynchburg.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
Applicants must be accepted into a graduate program at the University of Lynchburg.
