Position Summary

A Zumba Fitness & Zumba Kids Instructor is responsible for the implementation of Zumba Fitness and Zumba Kids curriculum, the supervision of campers, promoting and actively participating in all camp activities, providing a safe and fun learning environment, and serving as a positive role model for campers and counselors.

Position Scope Factors

Zumba Fitness and Zumba Kids Instructors are employed in the following camps;

  • Day Camp: 4 8 year olds

  • Senior Camp: 9 15 year olds

Essential Job ResponsibilitiesGroup supervision of campers with attention to: behavior and group management, health and safety, security, and personal and skill development

Organize and prepare daily lesson plans in a fun and creative manner

Adhere to the standards outlined in Zumba Fitness and Zumba Kids certification sessions

Motivate campers by creating fun for them in your activity (i.e. - songs, games, cheers, etc.)Encourage creativity and critical thinking while making a positive impact on each of your campers

Use effective classroom management skills to lead the activity and effectively create an inclusive, fun environment

Promote and actively participate in all camper activities

Serve as a positive role model to campers

Follow the ESF Code and maintain the ESF Look at all times

Employee is expected to exhibit ESF Core Values at all times and to adhere to all company policies

Assist with carline in the mornings and afternoons

Experience RequirementsMinimum of one year of teaching Zumba FitnessPrevious dance and/or fitness instructor experience

Previous experience working with children, examples include but are not limited to; babysitting, academic/athletic tutoring, camp counselor, youth volunteer, classroom assistant, religious education teacher

Certification RequirementsZumba Fitness Basic 1 certification (required)Zumba Kids & Zumba Kids Jr. certification (required, or willing to become certified upon employment)Education RequirementsBachelor's degree (preferred)Other Skill RequirementsOutstanding communication skills which include the ability to use clear, concise and grammatically correct written and oral language in all aspects of professional interaction with campers, their families, peers, leadership team and the larger community

Reporting RelationshipsReports directly to and takes direction from Activity Specialist Director or Senior Camp Director. May also take direction from and is overall accountable to the Site Director.Working Conditions and Physical RequirementsAbility to push/pull, lift and carry a minimum of 35IbsEndurance to work outside and on your feet for 6-8 hours per day

Ability to respond to emergency situations which may require running (up to 1 mile in some cases) and climbing stairs.Good physical condition which enables candidate to execute all responsibilities associated with this position

VIEW JOBS 9/19/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-12-18T00:00 Haverford College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Visual Anthropology at the rank of Assistant Professor to start Fall 2019. The successful candidate is expected to have completed the PhD by the time of the appointment, and will demonstrate an expertise in both visual anthropology and ethnographic filmmaking practice. The successful candidate is also expected to contribute to the Visual Studies program, and preference will be given to those applicants who engage in collaborative/participatory media. Geographical area is open but priority will be given to applicants whose scholarly interests and teaching engage critical race studies. Teaching responsibilities include courses at all levels of the curriculum, and in particular, introductory and/or capstone courses for the Anthropology Department and Visual Studies program, digital cinema production courses, new elective courses, and supervision of undergraduate senior theses.
