Position Summary:

Camp Nurse hours can range from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, depending on location. Depending on the location, the Camp Nurse can work up to ten (10) consecutive weeks from mid-June through mid-August.

The Camp Nurse ensures the health and safety of all on-site campers, Team members and visitors; obtains and maintains health records and documents as required by ESF, state agencies and accreditation agencies; administers basic first aid and medications and responds to emergencies as necessary.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all ESF Team Trainings as required, as well as pre-camp opening activities

  • Collect and maintain health records of campers and Team members in accordance with ESF Policies

  • Monitor, evaluate and follow appropriate ESF health and safety procedures and routines

  • Monitor health of campers and Team members participating in camp activities

  • Administer appropriate care in compliance with ESF Standards, Policies, Guidelines and Procedures

  • Serve as a liaison between ESF Camps and parents/guardians and campers

  • Understanding of, and ability to articulate and support, ESF Health and Safety Policies and Procedures

  • Assist parents and Team members with medical and health questions

  • Educate Team members on health and safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to, basic first aid, Epi-Pen and rescue inhaler administration, and serve as a resource for emergency response procedures

  • Manage Camp Nurse's office/area and ensure the office/area is clean, organized, and well-maintained

  • Maintain supply inventory and order as necessary

  • Work effectively with co-workers, typically one other Nurse on site, as a team and collaborate on various responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Valid license as a professional RN

  • Graduation from a NLN accredited program

  • BS in Nursing (preferred)

  • Pediatric nursing experience

  • First Aid Certification

  • Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certifications (preferred)

  • Proven success in working with children and young adults with medical conditions, including but not limited to; food allergies, diabetes, seizure disorders (preferred)

  • Proven success in working with children and young adults with special needs and/or disabilities (preferred)

Reporting Relationships:

  • Reports directly to and takes direction from Site Director and Assistant Site Director regarding daily camp operations.

  • Reports directly to and takes direction from Director of Nursing and Camp Medical Doctor regarding nursing practice.

Join our mission-driven team at ESF Camps & Experiences for a fun and rewarding summer as a Camp Art Instructor! Position Summary: At ESF, our Instructors are referred to as Activity Specialists. Activity Specialists hours are from 8:15am-3:45pm; Monday Friday. Start and end times may vary depending on the location and camp. Activity Specialists also have the opportunity to work extended hours for additional income. Depending on the location, Activity Specialists work up to ten (10) consecutive weeks from mid-June through mid-August. An Art Activity Specialist has the opportunity to teach any of the following programs: * Day Camp Art: Campers (ages 3-7) learn the elements of art and the principles of design while discovering Master and Contemporary Artist through classic art projects, keepsake crafts and literature connections. Projects include tie-dye, clay creations, 3-dimensional crafts, painting, collage and more. * Senior Camp DIY Studio: Campers (ages 6-14) explore a variety of artistic techniques and create masterpieces with oil and acrylic paints, wax, dye and more. Projects include tie dying, printmaking, fashion designing, cartooning, clay and more. * Specialty Art Camps: Campers (ages 6-14) are immersed in a variety of subjects and principles within week-long art programs that include graphic design, photography, studio art and more! Essential Job Responsibilities: * Group supervision of campers with attention to behavior and group management, health, safety, security, and personal and skill development * Implement ESF curriculum; bring lesson plans to life for campers through participation, support and guidance * Use effective classroom management skills to lead the activity and effectively create an inclusive and fun environment * Motivate campers by creating fun for them in your activity (i.e. songs, games, cheers, etc.) * Encourage creativity and critical thinking * Work effectively with fellow Activity Specialists and Counselors; collaborate on daily responsibilities * Complete assigned paperwork * Serve as a positive role model to campers * Push/pull, lift and carry a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds across campus * Able to work outside, upright and mobile for six (6) to eight (8) hours per day * Respond to emergency situations which may include running (up to 1 mile in some cases) and ascending stairs without undue exertion * Possess physical capacity to fulfill all essential job functions * Outstanding communication skills which include the ability to use clear, concise and grammatically correct written and oral language in all aspects of professional interaction with campers, their families, peers, leadership team and the larger community * Other responsibilities as assigned Requirements: * Prior classroom teaching/field work experience or two (2) years of ESF experience * Art background preferred * Previous experience working with children * Previous camp experience preferred * Teaching certification preferred * Minimum two (2) years of college completed Reporting Relationships: * Reports directly to and takes direction from the Camp Director.
