Camp Healthcare Supervisor (Camp Nurse)

The Westwood Recreation Department seeks a talented individual for the seasonal position of Healthcare Supervisor for the Westwood Recreation Department 2024 Summer Camp. This position is responsible for medical oversight of campers ages 5-14. The Healthcare Supervisor is responsible for the health, safety and welfare of the Camp through sound health promotion and practices while complying with the Department of Public Health Regulations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• During the pre-season and when program is in session, screen Camper medical forms via CampDocs electronic health record system, to include reviewing camper physicals and immunization forms to confirm they meet the MA Camp Regulations to attend camp.

• Manage, document and administer medication.

• Administer first aid and attend to injuries at camp.

• Communicate injuries and illnesses with supervisors and parents in a timely manner.

• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in accordance with state regulations.

• Maintain medical supplies, keeping them stocked, organized and prepared.

• Track and administer emergency medicine when needed, including ensuring Epi-Pens are distributed and collected daily.

• Act as first responder and manage emergency medical situations at Camp until EMS arrives.

Qualifications and experience: Must be at least 18 years of age. First Aid, CPR/AED certification is required. Prior medical experience and certifications are preferred (RN, BLS, WFR, etc.) Ability to work with children of varying ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Excellent communication and leadership skills necessary.

Schedule requirements: Mandatory staff trainings in early June (Dates TBD). Work commitment Monday

• Friday, June 24 - August 9, 2024 (No July 4th).

Shift schedule: Schedule is anticipated to be 8:00 am

• 4:30 pm, subject to change.

Salary and benefits: This is a seasonal, non-benefit position with a starting salary range of $18.50 - $25.00 per hour depending on qualifications. Employee Discount of 100% on in-house programs like camp for full-time staff and their immediate families.
