Call Center Rep II, Part-Time

This is a part-time (20 hrs/wk), hourly position based in Fort Collins, Colorado. You must be able to work the following hours: Friday and Saturday, 10:00 pm-8:00 am.

Answer telephone calls from the public and system. Facilitate communications throughout the system through the use of multiple communication tools and systems. Serve as the Information Center for staff, physicians and community.

Job Duties

  • Process all incoming telephone calls to the system which requires knowledge of all departments, services, physicians and key staff within the system.

  • Provide notifications and activation of many emergency systems and protocols including CORS, trauma, internal/external disaster and critical alarm monitoring. Act as an interim Command Center in emergency situations, ensuring communications flow until formal center established by Administration.

  • Provide directions for using the following equipment: phones (D-term, desk, TDD and polycom), pagers (voice, alpha, digital and baby pagers), cell phones and radios. Provide referral services for the system health services and activities as well as providing a physician referral service.

  • Provide Physician answering services after hours for designated clinics and plan to expand services with new Call Center equipment. Provide On Call services for other departments.

  • Issue and dispatch, resources and close out work orders for patient equipment (beds, nurse call, phones, TV's, etc.) pneumatic tube system, voice mail, fax, etc.; and facilities equipment.

  • Function as the Information Center, seven days per week, 24 hours per day.

  • Handle miscellaneous items such as death book, organ donation packets, car keys, etc.

  • Assist in coordination of any unusual events, and off-hours assistance for the Nursing Coordinator and Security with triaging calls, calling departments or services as needed.

  • Improvement of Quality: Demonstrate commitment to continuous quality improvement. Ensure open communication in the department. Serve as assigned and/or request to serve on appropriate CQI teams and special projects.

Requirements

  • High School graduate/GED or equivalent learning experience
  • 2 years PBX/switchboard
