About the role:

Calibrates, maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots instrumentation and equipment for laboratory and manufacturing plants to ensure conformance to established calibration standards. Supports the calibration services department in ensuring compliance to the various procedures, work instructions, the ISO and QSR regulations, and internal policies.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on instruments and equipment

  • Cordinate Calibration, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and equipment.

  • Act as site expert in maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting IM&T equipment.

  • Perform Out-Of-Tolerance (OOT) Assessment.

  • Generate PO and follow through their approvals.

  • Train others on calibration processes and procedures.

  • Follow calibration and PM procedures. Recommend changes to calibration and PM procedures.

  • Continuous Improvement; applying cost of quality principles; developing and reporting department metrics.

  • Performs the duties of Level I, II, & III coordinator, independently.

  • Be able to work independently with minimal guidance. May direct the work of other calibration technicians.

What we're looking for:

Basic Qualifications

  • AA Degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline and 1 year of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven record of working closely and successfully with manufacturing and process development engineers.

  • Basic understanding of medical device documentation requirements

Responsible for regulatory compliance of the calibration program. Completes and support additional Engineering, Maintenance, or Calibration projects such as; validation. The Calibration Technician is responsible for successful execution and management of all internal and external instrument calibration work, calibration records Reports directly to QA Manager. Job Description DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Independently calibrates, test and measuring equipment - mechanical and electronic measuring, recording, and indicating instruments for conformance to established standards/procedures. * Develops calibration methods and techniques based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems, and accuracy and precision requirements. * Manage the scheduling and performance, within specified intervals of plant calibrations to support operations. * Coordinates the scheduling of outside service calibrations and maintenance for production equipment and calibration standards. * Maintains accurate calibration documentation and performs all activities with extreme care. The daily tasks performed by this position are critical to the assurance of quality produced product. Errors or oversights made can affect six months to one year's worth of product. * Make adjustments and/or minor repairs to equipment. * Determine device suitability of the process or parameter being monitored, replace or improve monitoring device, where possible. * Research, develops and implement the use of new calibration equipment or new calibration procedure to improve calibration accuracy and device reliability. Eliminate calibrations performed by outside services by expanding in-house capabilities, where possible. * Completes Out-of-Tolerance Report as needed. * Inspects equipment wear & tear conditions & informs the department manager when a replacement is needed. * Completes preventive maintenance Work Orders. * Maintains the accuracy of the calibration database (Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Management) for all internal and external instruments, monitors due dates, and generates calibration record (certificates and reports). * Monitors calibration schedules/work via the calibration database – BM RAM (Regulatory Asset Manager) and completes calibration work as scheduled. * Participates/collaborates with various departments to fulfill calibration repair or validation activities within reasonable time. * Follows-up with OOT investigators and approvers to expedite closure of an OOT. * Coordinates pick-up, & shipping of test equipment to calibration vendors, including the processing of purchase requisition as needed. * Distributes calibrated equipment to their respective department without delay as needed. * Conducts training to designated associates as part of the department's cross-training effort. * Keeps abreast of the basic requirements for compliance in own area of work and complies with those requirements. * Participates as required in training on regulatory issues affecting own area of work. Brings regulatory compliance questions/issues to the attention of management. * Follows BDIS Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures. Takes responsibility for safety in immediate work area. Participates in EH&S programs. Notifies supervisor of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices. May provide recommendations on maintaining the safety of the work environment. * Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
