We have an exceptional opportunity for a Calibration Technician to join our team in the Novi area. Calibration Technicians perform routine and complex work related to the repair and calibration of test, measurement and diagnostic equipment. Responsibilities Include:

  • Achieves customer satisfaction though completion of calibration services within expected timeframes, as assigned by lead techs or supervisors

  • Accurately enters data into tracking database

  • May occasionally perform final inspection of work completed by other technicians,

  • Creates calibration data sheets accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision based upon instrument specifications and approved calibration procedures.

  • Completes all documentation supporting customer requirements, reporting, ISO and other quality systems.

  • Interacts with customer for items requiring repair or limited calibration.

  • Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedure to complete assigned tasks.

  • Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge to complete a wide range of tasks.

  • Perform moderate to high complexity calibrations; GP & some RF measurement areas

  • Creates budgets and datasheets

  • Performs basic repairs and Preventative maintenance

  • Performs work at the customer location as well as in the service center

  • Functions frequently as the primary representative of Tektronix to the customer

  • Adheres to quality management system policies and procedures in performance of work

  • FBS implementation - Daily Scheduling Improvements, Visual Management Improvements, Kaizen Charters, Kaizen Participation, Intermediate problem solving

  • Plans, oversees, organizes, participates, and/or leads onsite events independently; escalates complex issues to supervisors and managers when appropriate

  • Performs other laboratory support functions as required in an efficient and orderly manner.


  • Typically requires a minimum of 4-6 years of related experience

  • Must have excellent customer service skills.

  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work on assignments that are semi routine in nature but recognize the need to perform calibration by alternate, acceptable methods.

  • Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office, and Internet applications with an emphasis on Excel required.

  • Ability to travel as needed for personal skill enhancement and training; as well as, to fully support the customer calibration requirements.

  • Must meet requirements to drive a company vehicle (Valid driver's license and clean driving record).

  • U.S. Citizenship.

  • Capable of lifting (50 pounds) unassisted.


  • College degree, or continued education.

  • Military Metrology/Calibration (PMEL or TMDE) training.

  • 2-year Technical certification

  • Experience in equipment calibration in the following disciplines:

  • Biomedical

  • General Purpose

Position Summary Responsible for maintenance, servicing and repairs of roads and other infrastructure assets. This individual will be responsible for maintaining contracted assets (such as roadways, medians, signs, guardrails, fences, bridges, tunnels, vegetation, etc.) per standards in the contract and as directed by supervisor. * Please note – in order to support our road maintenance services, this role may be assigned to operations of equipment for winter (if applicable) or summer operations as required. Primary Duties and Responsibilities * Creates safe maintenance control by setup and removal of traffic control devices including cones, message/arrow boards, temporary signage, etc. * Must be comfortable working from heights in bucket trucks, scaffolding, ladders and aerial platforms lifts. * Basic maintenance and repair of bridge structures and equipment rooms including portals, railings, expansion joints, doors, and painting as required. * Repairs/maintains functionality of roadway catch basins, sumps and pumps, fire hydrants and other mechanical assets through use of shovels and other hand or power tools and equipment. * Repairs/maintains functionality of equipment room ventilation systems * Repairs/maintains basic electrical systems including emergency telephones, CCTV systems, electronic traffic signs, call boxes, lane signals, lighting, * Transports crew and equipment to work sites operating vehicle large trucks and specialized motor vehicles and trailers. * Required to be available for emergency response rotations as need for overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays * Positively contribute to a diverse, inclusive and fair work environment, free from discrimination, bullying and harassment. * Carry out all duties in line with Company policies and procedures as amended from time to time. * Maintain and repair highway and other surfaces including potholes, striping, adding or replacing reflectors, working with concrete and asphalt. * Creates safe traffic control by setup and removal of traffic control devices including cones, message/arrow boards, temporary signage, etc. * Maintains clean appearance of highways and medians through litter and debris removal and disposal (may use litter claw or other device) * Repairs/maintains functionality of slopes, berms, culverts, drains, etc. through use of shovels and other hand or power tools and equipment * Controls vegetation appearance and growth through use of lawn mowing equipment, hand or power trimmers, and chemical sprayers and other methods * Maintains the appearance and functionality of signs, guardrails, fence, and lighting through repair and/or replacement using hand or power tools. * Keep roadways free of debris including ice and snow by using snow removal and/or sanding equipment * Transports crew and equipment to work sites operating vehicle pickup trucks and specialized motor vehicles * Required to be available and accessible for emergency response rotations as need for overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays * All other duties as assigned. * Avoids legal challenges by complying with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
