Calibration Technicians perform routine and complex work related to the repair and calibration of test, measurement and diagnostic equipment. The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

  • U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Military PMEL/TMDE/DOD training preferred.

  • Experience in equipment calibration in any of the following:

  • General Purpose

  • Physical Dimensional

  • RF Calibration

  • Must have calibration training or experience in any of the following: PMEL, TMDE, Devry/ITT, Electronics/Metrology degree, or on-the-job training required.

  • Must have strong demonstrated customer service skills.

  • Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office, and Internet applications with an emphasis on Excel required.

  • Capable of lifting (50 pounds) unassisted.

  • Candidate must be willing to travel to local and regional on-site locations. Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Compliance

This position's primary/essential functions are subject to US Government ITAR compliance requirements under current government contracts. Therefore, all applicants must be either a US Citizen or a holder of a current valid Green Card and must provide proof of citizenship or legal residency via a birth certificate, a current valid green card, unexpired passport, or a naturalization certificate. Position Description Mid-level position where technicians have the ability to calibrate higher level equipment such as bench meters, and calibrate equipment across a minimum of three disciplines (or have an expert level of knowledge/calibration experience in one to two disciplines) Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Apply knowledge of electronics, mathematics, and measurement science to calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment in the electrical, dimensional, optical, physical/mechanical, and/or chemical disciplines to ensure measurement accuracy. * Identify and utilize appropriate measurement techniques * Perform corrective actions to address identified measurement problems * Adapt equipment, standards, and techniques to accomplish unique measurements * Maintain calibration standards * Will perform these functions within a laboratory setting or at a customer site * Other duties as assigned Job Requirements * Associate's Degree college or technical school plus 3+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience * Formal training in Metrology, such as the Precision Measurement Equipment Course (PMEL) or TMDE gained through the military is highly desirable * Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
