Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Calibration Technician 2.

Calibrates electronic test measuring equipment and signal generating equipment to conform to set standards. Tests, calibrates, adjusts, and maintains electromechanical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, hydro mechanical, and pressure-type measuring and indicating instruments.

Sets up calibration sequences, methods and procedures according to detailed specifications, blueprints, drawings, and requirements. Disassembles, cleans, repairs, and replaces defective parts of test equipment such as pressure gauges and tension meters. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance as a condition of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

PMEL Experience

Detail oriented, must thrive in a fast paced environment

In scope DoD Secret Clearance with reinvestigation within the past 5 years

Willingness to work overtime

This position will be located in Palmdale, CA. We are looking for self-motivated individuals that are willing to work in a fast paced manufacturing team environment covering multiple programs within the Palmdale center of excellence. The Candidate will be required to use highly sophisticated computer aided metrology equipment that will require learning multiple software applications. The Candidate must provide and project an atmosphere focused on team building and collaboration across multiple individuals and across multiple shifts. Lays out, fabricates and assembles a variety of standard and nonstandard major jigs, fixtures, tool masters, master tooling gauges, and related tooling involving compound angels and complex contours where the establishment and coordination to exacting tolerances of numerous tooling holes and reference points between several planes are required. Plans work to be performed and determines methods and sequence of operations working from tool design drawings or own designs. Sets up and operates optical instruments to check overall and detailed alignment, fit, or adjustment of assemblies. Develops and designs holding devices and jig and fixture details. Prepares operational sequences and shop drawings covering parts fabrication and assembly to be performed by others. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Candidates must be willing to work & support any shift or work schedule. Some positions will require an enhanced security clearance and/or program access prior to beginning work KSCA Basic Qualifications: * Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of experience in Assembly Tooling. * Experience working with Computer-Aided Measurement Systems (C.A.M.S.), with an emphasis on (FARO-LEICA) Laser Tracking Systems. * Experience with tracking systems and data collection for the Validation/Verification of Tooling and Engineering. * Experienced with building and reworking of Jig and fixtures. * Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.) * Ability to work off of high ladders and portable platforms, lifting up to 25lbs., standing for long periods of time, and bending and stooping. * Ability to read blue prints * This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs * Ability to use hand tools such as drills, hammers, and screw drivers, Ability to drill, tap, and ream * Ability to work 1st shift "5am-3:30pm" or 2nd shift "4:12pm-2:42am" and any work schedule (times may vary) Preferred Qualifications: * Assembly tool fabrication background * Familiarity with multiple computer aided metrology systems such as laser trackers, articulated arms, scanners etc. * Experience in computer aided graphicinterfaces such as Verisurf X, and Maya matrix BuildIT. * Tooling experience and Aircraft Structures and Composites training are desirable. * Experience with fabrication hand tools * Experience with saws, drill, mill and lathe * Experience in the ability to analyze collected data to computer models using CATIA V5 R26. * Ability to use manual Mills and or Lathes to machine angles and or details * Ability to run forklift and crane when needed * Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
