Job Description:
This occupation requires the initial and periodic testing, calibration and certification of electronic and electromechanical test equipment - under manufacturing and standards lab conditions - prior to quality acceptance for usage in testing other instruments, components, units and systems.

Also performs diagnosis, repair and modification in the servicing of all types of RMSC and commercial electronic and electromechanical test equipment, including the electronic functional and operational test thereof.

Job Requirements:
Three (3) years experience in the operation, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of electronic, electromechanical, standard and precision measuring equipment in a manufacturing and/or standards laboratory environment; or, equivalent technical training in the repair and calibration of precision measuring equipment, and the science of measurements (metrology).
Must have worked from test position calibration manuals, design drawings, sketches, handbooks, and engineering specifications.
Must have used the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) specifications in the performance of job duties.
Must pass qualifying and/or practical test.

Starting Rate: $27.28

  • Must be able to pass written evaluation and practical.

  • Must be able to work all shifts.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Required Education: High School or Equivalency (GED)

Drive state vehicle in the course scope of daily work KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of: * Methods, procedures and techniques used in sampling and testing highway construction materials * Materials and equipment used for highway construction purposes * Principles and practices of office engineering and materials inspection * Operation and maintenance of a variety of materials testing and inspection measuring devices Skills in: * Testing hot mix asphalt, portland cement, and soils & aggregates * Reading and mathematics * Verbal and written communication Ability to: * Perform complex mathematical calculations used in materials testing and highway construction. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS The ideal candidate for this position will have; * Completion of the Construction Technician certification matrix the technical 3 level * Arizona Technical Testing Institute Certification: Soils & Aggregates and Asphalt * American Concrete Institute Certification: Concrete Strength Testing, Field Technician Grade 1.
