JOB DESCRIPTION:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of the Calibration Coordinator is parts planning and ordering, calibration scheduling, identifying resource needs to keep activities on time and client interactions. The Calibration Coordinator will support the quality manager in establishing performance standards, procedures, and audit controls to meet business requirements, as well as identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of company products and services. This is accomplished by creating the necessary calibrations, and measurement studies to ensure customer and Quality Assurance standards are being met and maintained.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation.

  • Review calibration and maintenance activities and schedule needed work within the team while

  • coordinating with users/suppliers as needed

  • Use calibration knowledge to detect inconsistencies with scheduled work and advise 3rd party providers when there are discrepancies.Communicate with Technicians or Specialist with technical requirements to complete the job at

  • hand.

  • Plan and schedule any Test Standards to the technical requirements of the procedure required.

  • Provide assistance to Storeroom and/or Operations, ordering, inventory control, and

  • communication.

  • Seek innovative ways to deliver better value to users in a highly professional, profitable manner.

  • Works with purchasing, 3rd party providers, production and finance departments to ensure proper purchase of additional instruments and materials that meet required specifications.

  • Track and deliver inventory, materials and instruments.

  • Perform critical calibration tracking and recovery to ensure that 3rd party providers on-time deliveries are achieved.

  • Trains quality assurance personnel on the floor based on calibration, MSA (Measurement System Analysis), and 3rd party providers requirements and scope.

  • Implements calibrations following established procedures and supports 3rd party providers as needed.

  • Ensures detailed gage calibration plans are available in AS/400 or 3rd party software before performing calibrations.

  • Follows standards for Calibration Technicians in proper calibration methodology.

  • Experienced in multiple types of equipment (Supermic, Jo Blocks, masters, etc.) for the calibration of in-house gages.

  • Assists with measurement system analysis studies and maintains database of results, corrective actions, and annual.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities as it relates to workflow.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED or 3 years of related work/supervisory experience.

  • Basic MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)

  • Knowledge of shop mathematics, i.e. decimals, fractions, algebra, and trigonometry.

  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and geometric tolerancing.

  • Experience using calibration master's and other equipment used in mechanical calibration.

  • Understanding of basic quality concepts, philosophies, and tools as well as of quality standards such as ISO, IATF 16949 or other quality management systems and manufacturing processes and capabilities.

  • Understanding of basic statistical process control.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize tasks and work under minimal supervision.

  • Organized and detail oriented.

  • Problem solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure.

  • Machining Processes experience is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques with emphasis on Standardized Work, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and JIT principles

WORKING ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

May be exposed to moderate heat, light dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, noise and hazards such as electrical shock or gases. Some outside assignments could involve exposure to adverse weather conditions. Adequate hearing protection is required for 85 decibels and above.
