Job Summary

Responsible for the calibration and preventative maintenance of all laboratory instruments/equipment for the Analytical Sciences (AS) and Quality Control (QC) departments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Calibrates a variety of laboratoryinstruments/equipment to ensure compliance with specifications (e.g., HPLCs,dissolution units, Karl Fisher units, environmental chambers).

  • Performs routine maintenance, repair, and calibrationon laboratory equipment.

  • Coordinate and assist contractors who may beused to perform any of the above tasks.

  • Assists with investigating out of calibrationresults.

  • On call 24/7 to respond to environmental chamberexcursions.

Non-Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide calibration use training to laboratorypersonnel, as applicable.

  • Assists with installation and qualification oflaboratory equipment.

  • Update written procedures (SOPs) concerninginstrumentation when needed.

  • N/A

Knowledge and Other Qualifications:

  • Assistant: B.S. in Chemistry, Engineering with0+ years of experience or high school degree or relevant technical schooltraining/certification with 4+ years of relevant experience.

  • Ability to calibrate a variety of laboratoryinstruments while ensuring compliance with specifications.

  • Ability to understand and follow writtenprocedures concerning laboratory instrumentation.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention todetail.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Computer literate with proficiency of MicrosoftOffice package including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

  • GMP experience a plus.

  • Ability to maintain high ethical standards of integrityand quality.

  • Dynamic in approach to work.

  • Capable of performing other duties as assignedby management.

  • Authorized to legally work in the United Stateswithout visa sponsorship.

Promotes efficient patient flow and patient care, i.e. exams, and procedures. Performs clinic support tasks including miscellaneous clerical tasks, answering phones, and maintaining physician's schedule. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate. * Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes. * Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures. * Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed. * Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested. * Depending on practice-specific protocols, may be asked to obtain. * Administers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, as delegated by RN or physician. * Maintains all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols. * Responds to patients' calls as requested.-Performs other administrative duties, i.e. typing, filing faxing reception, etc, as requested by supervisor or physician. * Alerts nurse/physician of abnormal vitals, any important information given by patient. * Collection of inbound meaningful use data. Flu documentation, initial height and weight. * Prints med list for patient to review. * Fill out disability forms. * Schedule blood transfusions, therapeutic phlebotomies, ordering special tests (Oncotypes, Kras testing, EGFR (epidural growth factor receptor), Myraid, Paradigm, etc). * May enter orders under a provider's direction and supervision. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent. Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred. Minimum three years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required. Certified Medical Assistant preferred. Some state regulations may require specific certifications in order to work as a Medical Assistant PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
