Overview

Calvary Street Property Management, a subsidiary of Gilbane Development Company, is a leading provider of property management services for residential and commercial properties.

Calvary Street Property Management is seeking Kitchen Utility Staff to be responsible for assisting in the efficient operation of the dining room and kitchen by maintaining cleanliness standards through the operation of dishwashing, removing garbage, cleaning of equipment and work areas. The Kitchen Utility Worker will also assist in general food preparation for events. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Kitchen Utility Staff typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Cleaning and Sanitization: May perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and disinfecting dining spaces.

• Trash Removal: Empty trash bins and recycling containers, replace liners, and dispose of waste in a hygienic and environmentally responsible manner.

• Restroom Maintenance: Monitor and clean restrooms regularly, replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed.

• Light Maintenance: Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department and assist in minor repairs or adjustments as directed.

• Event Setup: Assist in setting up and breaking down tables, chairs, and equipment for events, meetings, or special occasions.

• Stocking Supplies: Ensure that cleaning supplies, restroom supplies, and other essentials are well-stocked and readily available.

• Teamwork: Collaborate with culinary and housekeeping teams to ensure clean, efficient and effective operations.

• Dishwashing: Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to efficiently clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans.

• Kitchen Cleaning: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area by regularly emptying trash, cleaning food preparation areas, and ensuring equipment is clean and in good working order.

• Assist Kitchen Team: Provide support to kitchen staff as needed, including helping with food preparation and basic kitchen tasks during busy periods.

• Safety and Sanitation: Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling of chemicals and cleaning agents.

• Performs other duties as needed

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

• Serve safe a plus, training and certification available

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Prior service and/or kitchen experience is highly preferred

• On the job training is available

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Regular and consistent attendance with the ability to work a flexible schedule including extended hours, weekends and holidays

• Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.

• Working knowledge of all applicable sanitation requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently or occasionally required to:

• Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, pull, stoop, walk and move frequently during working hours

• Must be able to lift 30 lbs. floor to waist, lift 10 lbs. waist to shoulder, lift and carry 30 lbs. and

• push and pull 40 lbs.

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For Washington, DC, this ranges from $29,000.00 - $39,000.00 which includes an excellent benefits.
