Job Summary

We are looking for a Cagewash Technician II/Lead to join our Insourcing Solutions team located in Bethesda, MD.

As the Cagewash Technician II/Lead you will clean, sanitize, maintain, and repair all animal caging materials and cagewash facilities/equipment as required; as well as provide general support, oversight, and troubleshooting.

Additional responsibilities include:

Assists the Cagewash Supervisor with training the staff, either as re-training, group training or new hire training.

Sanitizes, maintains, and repairs caging materials as needed; as well as maintains cagewash facilities and disposes of waste materials in a safe, clean, and organized manner.

Maintains facility equipment and performs routine preventative maintenance on cagewash and autoclaves, including routine inspection of cleaning filters and roto-arms.

Routine inspections of cagewash facilities, equipment, and materials, and coordinating preventive maintenance of all cagewash machinery, animal caging and transport equipment and materials. Machinery repair and general organization. If necessary, communicates directly with manufacturers on problems with equipment.

Prepares and submits required written records, charts, logs, and inventories. Assists with the receipt, stocking, and maintenance of supply inventories.

Operates equipment and performs general housekeeping. Responsible for conducting trouble shooting on the equipment and reporting any problems to the Cagewash Supervisor.

Actively interacts with customers to resolve requests, inquiries, and concerns, and to provide technical assistance.

In the absence of the Cagewash Supervisor, is responsible for scheduling the staff, ensuring the work is completed, and that all related paperwork is completed.

Job Qualifications

The following are minimum requirements related to the Cagewash Technician II/Lead position:

High school diploma or GED required.

A minimum of six months successful performance in Cagewash facility operations.

The pay for this position is $21 USD per hour.
