The Division of Animal Resources (DAR) is a unit of the Office of the Vice President for Research & Economic Development. The primary objective of the Animal Resource program is to facilitate the use of animals in research and teaching at Georgia State University while assuring compliance with all applicable regulations. The Animal Resources program maintains responsibilities in animal procurement, animal housing and daily care, the provision of veterinary care, health surveillance and preventative care, assisting investigators and their staff with animal procedures, and the care, maintenance and replacement of relevant equipment and facilities.
The Division of Animal Resources at Georgia State University is seeking to hire a Cage Wash Technician (Temp).

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
The Cage Wash Technician (Temp) will prepare cages and accessories for cage wash and for use under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director/Supervisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Sanitizes cage systems, animal rooms and support areas using automated and manual equipment.
Maintains food and bedding stock room.
Maintains routine record keeping of such items as sterility confirmation and cage wash temperature.
May be responsible for maintaining cage wash and autoclaving equipment in conjunction with external contractors.
May be responsible for transporting supplies from stock room to animal facility.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Ability to lift 50lbs or more.
Ability to frequently bend, crouch, and kneel.
