Café Support (Nfw)

The Café Barista is responsible for assisting in all Gateway Café operations, including front and back of house operations, café sales, restocking, cleaning, mentoring volunteers, and providing excellent guest service. Becoming proficient in all areas of the café is a requirement of this position. Candidate must possess strong guest service skills, must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings. Candidate must also be a member or be willing to become a member of Gateway Church. This is a part-time position of approximately 10-25 hours per week to support Gateway Church needs.

Principle Responsibilities

• Guest service

• Café Sales

• Special event/promotional/seasonal product displays

• Weekday, weekend services, and specials events assistance

• Café point-of-sale software

• Proficiency in drink preparation and serving

• Proficiency in food preparation, display and serving

• Periodic & annual inventories

• New café volunteer & café team training/development assistance

• Professional, clean appearance in all areas

• Daily, weekly, monthly cleaning

• Sanitation procedures

• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Job Complexity

• Food service industry experience helpful

• Coffee bar or café experience helpful

• Physical requirements: Bending, lifting at least 25 lbs or more, and ability to be on feet for several hours at a time
