This position is 8 Hours per day. 200 Days per year.
Qualifications:
Must pass the serve safe managers course within 6 months of being hired or hold a current serve safe certification.
Must complete 12 hours of CEU's in Civil Rights, Reimbursable Meals, Ethics, Meal Pattern, Meal counting and claiming, offer vs. Serve and Production Records.
Is encouraged to attend training via webinar, zoom, teams meeting or in person to continue to learn.
Encouraged to be a member of the Indiana School Nutrition Association for continued training.
Job Tasks:
Help with onboarding new employees by doing training on Civil Rights, Reimbursable meals, production records, meal counting, offer vs. serve and work with new employees in the kitchen when hired for the first 2-3 days.
Visit kitchens to observe their daily tasks and conduct weekly food safety checklists as part of the Standard Operating Procedures.
Help to develop and/or update any SOPs as needed on a yearly basis.
Sub in the kitchens when needed.
Visit the cafeteria's during lunch service to interact with the student customers and build a relationship with them. This can lead to having a Student Ambassador Program where we work with students on their wants and needs.
Help to set up and run food taste tests so we can introduce new food items to the students.
Help to develop and implement new recipe ideas and work in the kitchens to standardize the recipes for each kitchen.
Plan and conduct training for cafeteria staff yearly.
Help in the planning and implementation of marketing and promoting our program through signage in the cafeteria and communication with the public.
