Applicants are alerted that school systems are required to obtain all available criminal offender record information (CORI and SAFIS Background Check per 603 CMR 51.00) from the criminal history systems board (CHSB) of any current or prospective employee or volunteer of the school department.
The Cafeteria Monitors will monitor all student lunch periods (10:48 am to 12:25 pm) to assist with student supervision and to ensure that the cafeteria is maintained as a safe and clean environment. The Cafeteria Monitors will be responsible for cleaning the cafeteria tables/benches at the conclusion of each lunch block. The Cafeteria Monitors will report and receive daily direction from the Assistant Principals.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1.Cafeteria Monitors will supervise and monitor the Cafeteria and Cafeteria Annex during all lunch periods.

2.Cafeteria Monitors will circulate throughout their assigned area to monitor student behaviors.

3.Cafeteria Monitors will coordinate cafeteria assignments (table seating) and dismissal assignments.

4.The Cafeteria Monitors will speak to students regarding cafeteria expectations and regulations regarding student conduct in the cafeteria and provide verbal reminders regarding cafeteria cleanliness.

5.Cafeteria Monitors will clean and sanitize all cafeteria tables and benches.

6.Cafeteria Monitors will monitor and enforce the student ID badge system.

7.Cafeteria Monitors will report any maintenance issues to the Facilities Manager.

8.When necessary, the Cafeteria Monitors will direct uncooperative students to the attention of the Conflict Resolution Coordinator or, if warranted, to the Assistant Principals.

9.Cafeteria Monitors will address any possible problems before they escalate.

10.All additional duties deemed appropriate by the Assistant Principals or designee.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

1.Experience working with high school age students in an educational environment.
2.Knowledge of conflict resolution and the district's policy and procedures around student behavior.
3.Ability to provide consistent, fair and policy-based direction to students; maintain confidential and sensitive information.
4.Ability to communicate effectively with individuals of varied cultural and educational background in oral and written form.

Duration: School Year 2024-2025 . The designated hours for this position are from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm, five days a week for 193 student contact days.

Compensation: $21.16 per hour. This is a temporary part time non-benefit position.
