What you'll do:

The Caf Manager is responsible for all the daily operations of the Caf, ensuring consistency with our Convene culture, providing world-class customer service, and managing the staff. The Caf Manager will lead by example and foster an employee-centric environment while focusing the caf staff on maximizing sales and productivity in the caf. The Caf Manager selects, hires and develops caf staff and assists with any needs.

  • Manages and motivates the Caf team including hiring, firing, performance management and employee recognition

  • Trains new employees and provides ongoing training for all Caf staff

  • Develops and implements Caf policies and procedures

  • Coordinates Caf team schedule, covering different shifts if necessary

  • Serves as the lead customer service contact in Caf for customers and building manager including answering questions and other client communication

  • Acts as a liaison between Caf and all other departments, communicating relevant information to Caf staff as needed

  • Establishes, monitors and analyzes Caf budget

  • Manages vendor relationships and maintains inventory

  • Responsible for keeping Caf area clean, neat and orderly

  • Orders any supplies needed for the Caf

  • Conducts departmental meetings

What we look for:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in food and beverage service

  • Strong knowledge of coffee and teas

  • Proficient in creating espresso based drinks and latte art

  • Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proven good organizational skills

  • Must be highly motivated and ready to lead

  • Must have a good understanding of food and beverage operations

  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office- Word, Excel and Internet use

  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety compliance

  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required

  • Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects up to 25 pounds without assistance

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Ensure that each customer receives exceptional customer service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer. * Review and communicate financial information to assist in proactive and timely decision making. * Ensure that in-house control systems / audit requirements are adhered to. * Inventory all cafe supplies/products and reorder as needed. * Manage all FOH staff and maintain appropriate staffing schedule - ensure adequate coverage while being mindful of labor costs. * Ensure that the café area including counters, tables, chairs, floor, sinks, back area, equipment, etc. are always neat, clean and organized. * Ensure all café equipment is working properly and communicates any maintenance/repair needs. * Maintain professional appearance and demeanor. * Enter payroll daily * Meet weekly with the management team to discuss operational challenges and solutions.
