What will I be doing?

As a Cafe Attendant you would be responsible for executing your position's responsibilities in alignment with our Spirit of Service culture and driving company success through performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Prepares and serves menu food and beverage items.

  • Promotes sales of retail merchandise.

  • Ensures the quality of food and service is at an exceptional level displaying warmth and friendliness to guests and owners.

  • Precious experience with cash handling and food handling.

  • Alcohol awareness certification.

  • Food safety certification.

Café and Employee Cafeteria Manager responsibilities include scheduling shifts for baristas and wait staff, monitoring daily expenses and revenues and ordering supplies like coffee, milk, Jamba Juice, Hershey Ice cream, snacks and employee cafeteria, as needed. To be successful in this role you should have work experience with various roles in coffee shops. Also, you should be available to work during opening hours, including weekends and holidays. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Manage day-to-day operations of the Coffee Shop and Employee Cafeteria. * Hire and onboard new wait staff and baristas * Train employees on drinks preparation and proper use of coffee equipment * Coordinate with vendors and order supplies, as needed (like takeaway cups, coffee, milk, Jamba Juice, Hershey Ice cream and other ingredients) * Maintain updated records of daily, weekly and monthly revenues and expenses * Add new menu items based on seasonality and customers' preferences * Advise staff on the best ways to resolve issues with clients and deliver excellent customer service * Ensure all coffee shop and employee cafeteria areas are clean and tidy * Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Direct supervises team members in the café and employee cafeteria. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training and coaching team members; planning, assigning and directing work; assisting in appraising performance; rewarding team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. High School graduate or equivalent required. Work experience as a Café manager or Barista. Hands-on experience with professional coffee machines. Additional certification (e.g. in Business Administration or Hospitality) is a plus. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Food Handlers Certification required within 30 days of Hire, must be maintained on a current/valid status. Must successfully attend Company Mandatory Training programs. Must attend and complete mandatory State required continuing HACCP training. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
