Position Description Summary/Purpose:

The CAEP Assessment Liaison reports to the Director of the School of Education and coordinates and oversees assessment, accreditation, accountability, and continuous improvement efforts within the School of Education. The Liaison is expected to have in-depth knowledge of assessment practices, processes, and procedures, accreditation (e.g., CAEP), as well as the ability to collaborate with others and coordinate complex tasks related to the school's assessment practices. This position will be accepting applications through May 12, 2024.

Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

  • Working with the director, perform specialized administrative work related to assessment, accreditation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the School of Education.

  • Foster a culture of data-informed decision-making related to student learning outcomes and program/administrative effectiveness within the School of Education.

  • Serve as the assessment coordinator for the School of Education related to annual assessments/reports and accreditation (e.g., CAEP, institutional accreditation, and state education reports).

  • Identify, establish, and maintain data management systems within the School of Education.

  • Attend department meetings and participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of program goals and curriculum review based on student learning outcomes.

  • Monitor timelines and efforts to ensure compliance and timely submission of assessment and accreditation data, materials, and reports.

  • Maintain School of Education data collection and records related to assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement including generating reports.

  • Provide support to program coordinators and faculty concerning accreditation process, annual reports, and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Provide information and updates regarding accreditation standards to faculty, staff, and other stakeholders, as appropriate.

  • Lead assessment system training and practices for all stakeholders within the School of Education as needed.

  • Develop training materials to meet the needs of all stakeholders.

  • Lead data review meetings and retreats to support assessment and accreditation.

  • Work collaboratively across the university to implement organizational policies and procedures, including accreditation-related technical assistance, training, tools, to support the School of Education.

  • Serve as liaison to the Office of Institutional Effectiveness to ensure compliance related to annual assessments and reports.

  • Serve on and provide information to university committees as needed and requested.

  • Partner with IT to ensure quality and accuracy of data.

  • Represent the School of Education on accreditation related events when appropriate.

  • Attend professional development activities to remain informed of current trends and new approaches in the discipline.

  • Maintain licenses, certifications, and other professional credentials for the profession/position.

  • Perform similar or related work as required, directed, or as the situation dictates.

  • Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed.

  • Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.

  • Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.

Knowledge, Ability and Skill:

  • Ability to analyze, synthesize and interpret student learning outcome data to improve teaching and learning.

  • Demonstrated ability with technology and scholarly writing.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Fluency creating charts, spreadsheets, and databases and conducting data analysis.

  • Experience with state data systems and/or relational databases is desirable.

  • Strong Excel skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (e.g., Teams, Outlook, and Office) and webinar tools (e.g., Zoom).

  • Experience with SL & L or willingness to learn this portfolio system is desirable.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Master's degree in Educational Assessment, Research, and Evaluation or a related education field.

  • Three years of experience in assessment in higher education/school of education.

  • Experience in evaluation design and analysis, database management, and writing evaluation and accreditation reports.

  • Doctoral degree in Educational Assessment, Research, and Evaluation or a related education field preferred.

  • Experience with CAEP Accreditation is highly desirable.
