Job Description:

  • Develop Strength and Durability of vehicle bodies, closures and components by combining finite element analysis, multibody dynamic simulation and fatigue analysis.

  • Work with cross functional groups to meet project milestones and targets.

  • Determine physical phenomena based on test results, measurements or simulation results to determine best structure or simulation method.

  • Work with related groups to develop light weight structures that meet durability, strength and other requirements.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 2-3 Years of experience in reliability simulation (Body, Closure and Chassis) using Finite Element. Analysis, Multibody Dynamics, Fatigue.

  • Demonstrated Teamwork and leadership capability.

  • Enthusiasm

  • Experience in fatigue, mechanics.

  • Need experience using Nastran Abacus and Ansa.

  • Must have modeling experience.

Architecture & Operations Management The HITS Architecture & Operations Management (AOM) division designs, deploys, and supports application platforms, integration solutions, and computing devices. AOM is dedicated to advancing security, quality, and availability of services and data across Michigan Medicine. The team connects patients and business partners with relevant data for both clinical and business needs, while helping to ensure electronic medical records are accessible and secure. The team's frontline staff deliver consistent telephone, online, and in-person customer service to support computers, printers, telecommunication, and mobile devices. Job Summary Michigan Medicine's Health Information Technology & Services (HITS) Enterprise Device Engineering and Management (EDEM) Team is seeking a highly talented, customer-and results-driven Microsoft Systems Engineer to enhance its operational support model. This role's primary responsibility will be to triage incoming tickets to the Level 3 EDEM team and identify areas for improvement in the troubleshooting and incident resolution process, while being the primary interface point between HITS support teams / end customer and EDEM. EDEM's role is to provide customer-focused engineering services for the development and management of reliable, secure, and supportable computing devices. This is accomplished by providing comprehensive business analysis, the development of centrally-managed products and services, and application packaging. EDEM manages a fleet of over 38,000 Windows devices across Michigan Medicine, the academic medical center of the University of Michigan. A successful candidate for this role will have a broad understanding of supporting the Windows desktop operating system in an enterprise environment, from both a Level 1 and Level 2 perspective. They will have strong analytical skills, have experience with ITIL-based tools such as Service Now and are fluent in running reports and analyzing data from those tools. Additionally, this candidate will be a driven individual constantly in search of ways to reduce operational overhead and improve efficiencies using incident trend analysis. Knowledge of / experience with Microsoft System Center, Active Directory GPOs, and PowerShell scripting are also required. Responsibilities* * Engineer, support and develop the System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) environment used on over 38,000 CoreImage devices by performing the following: * Manage the monthly patch process; download, evaluate and integrate new patches and deploy across the enterprise * Create PowerShell scripts where necessary to assist in reporting or deployment of SCCM technologies * Evaluate the health of SCCM, prepare for upgrade of aging SCUP environment to modern Microsoft 3rd party patch deployment process * Develop and deploy Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to expand functionality and management of the CoreImage fleet * Research, evaluate and prepare organized reports and presentations related to upcoming endpoint technologies including device management (InTune) and MS Office applications * Provide level 3 support to other HITS teams by triaging, troubleshooting and executing reports to diagnose and reduce incident trends and volume Required Qualifications* * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field * 3-5 years demonstrating expert-level support of Windows operating systems, including management, troubleshooting, and general product lifecycle management in a diverse enterprise environment * Working knowledge of / experience with endpoint management technologies, preferably Microsoft Intune * Intermediate experience with writing and deploying PowerShell scripts * Experience with ITIL-based helpdesk ticketing systems (i.e., Service Now) * Prior experience creating, modifying and deploying Group Policy Objects (GPOs) * Excellent analytical skills; the ability to interpret incident trends and draw conclusions, design solutions and make recommendations based that analysis * Ability to document architectural and procedural documentation for technical and non-technical viewers * Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills (attention to detail) with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels within the organization * Strong background in customer service, providing direct customer support * Time management skills to work with multiple projects at various stages of development * Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Desired Qualifications* * Experience in supporting Windows Server operating systems (2012 or greater) * Certification in one or more Microsoft areas (i.e., MCSE) * Experience in Healthcare IT * Ability to plan and execute a complex, multi-phased software development project on-time Background Screening Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
