Cad/Solid Works Designer

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Uses Solidworks computer aided design/drafting (CAD) software to develop 3D designs from sketches and prototypes.

• Creates and revises 2D production drawings (detail and assembly drawings).

• Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.

• Sketches rough layout of designs and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages and location of holes.

• Utilizes knowledge of various woodworking tools, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, structure knowledge and other physical sciences to complete drawings.

• Required to follow instructions to maintain design direction and intent.

• Able to complete projects to meet deadline requirements.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AS REQUESTED:

• Maintains electronic files stored on company servers/vault.

• Convert 3D models to STEP file format as needed.

• Convert 2D drawings to PDF file format as needed.

• Review project details with Design Engineer, Engineering Manager, and others as required.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
