We are currently seeking CAD Technicians to join our thriving Technical Services CAD Group in the firm's Water and Infrastructure Business Unit.

What you'll be doing: As part of our CAD Group, you will assist engineers and multi-discipline project teams in preparing and managing drawings using CAD and/or BIM software.

What you'll need:

  • 3-5 years of experience in relevant fields (water, wastewater, civil land development)

  • Solid handson knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

  • Perform routine to moderately difficult drafting assignments

  • Address redline markups provided by engineers or designers

  • Backcheck own work prior to delivery to internal client

  • Understand and adhere to company CAD Standards

  • Ability to adopt and work to a Client CAD Standard when needed

  • Familiar with working in a ProjectWise environment

  • Receive and adhere to budget expectations for task assignments

  • Communicate with engineers regarding task execution

  • Ability to interact, collaborate and communicate with project teams in a positive and proactive manner

Primary Job Responsibilities * Understand project scope and the goals and expectations of project leads. * Provide input on project safety plan and ensure work activities are compliant. * Give attention to coordination of technical work between different disciplines. * Identify technical issues which may affect client satisfaction and coordinate with the PM to resolve. * Role - Perform technical tasks to ensure all elements of scopes are completed, including: o As a 3D CAD Designer, should be competent in preparation of detailed 2D and 3D drawings with relevant specification / standards. The individual should have a background in preparation of Layout Plans and detailed network drawings of wet utility services - Water / Sewerage / Storm Water projects, working independently and supporting the Engineering team. Good understanding of team work and water business area. He / she will be responsible for quality drawing delivery. Exhibit clear progression towards career path. o Preparation of detail 3D drawings. o Well versed with working with points, surface, alignments, profiles, pressure and gravity networks. o Proficient with plan production tools and data shortcuts for sheet. o Familiar with preparation of Sewerage Pumping Station and Treatment Plants drawings along with Lift Stations, Interceptor Chambers and Hydraulic Flow Diagrams. o Continuous improvement to get updated with developments in the industry. o Self-starter and team player. #BIA 6-10 years' experience in engineering drafting o Exposure to relevant software tools – AutoCAD, Microstation, Bentley Projectwise and AutoCAD Civil3D (must). o ProjectWise o AutoCAD and/or MicroStation o Confident with proven interpersonal and communication skills (English). Training and Experience * 2 years of experience in design * Experience performing technical tasks related to various CAD designs * Experience creating products with Civil 3D Minimum requirements: * Bachelor's or associate's degree in applicable field. * Proven ability to complete technical aspects CAD design tasks. * Must have good social and communication skills. * Ability to pass drug screen and background checks. * Reputation as a trusted and respected member of the surveying community.
