About the Position
Under direct supervision, to perform detail drafting work to create, update and maintain identified drawings; and to perform other related drafting work as assigned. In this connection to perform details of work, such as:
Draw, update and maintain line drawings, electrical, civil, structural, building and other diagrams associated with Power Operations, with computer or, when necessary, by hand.
Change drawings to match marked prints or verbal instructions.
Create, maintain and prepare special posters, signs, charts, maps or indexes when requested.
Assist in taking field measurements or sketches at the site to resolve discrepancies on drawings or maps, and/or obtain additional information.
Maintain and update information in the electronic drawing management system.
Quality and accuracy in updating and maintaining Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) drawings and information.
For holding as confidential information obtained in connection with Company business.
Responsible for safe, prudent, efficient and effective use of Company resources.
Conduct self in efficient and effective manner.
Supervisors, engineers, construction personnel, other Company departments in connection with work performed, outside companies (if requested) in acquiring information for the maintenance and construction of Company drawings.
Primarily in an office environment, however when on field trips or assigned to a special on-site project, the employee may be subject to the usual conditions existing in energy centers, construction sites or other buildings, and subject to outdoor weather conditions. When in the field, the employee must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Subject to those hazards incidental to visiting construction projects, energy centers and other buildings.
Graduation from high school or the equivalent.
Satisfactory completion of fifteen (15) credit hours leading toward an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in design drafting, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) or other drafting technology, with at least six (6) credit hours in Computer Aided Drafting or other drafting technology, at an accredited university, college or junior college of study. Satisfactory completion means receiving a minimum grade of C in each class.
Within the previous two (2) years, must have completed one of the following:
a. Satisfactory completion of the six (6) credit hours in CAD or other drafting technology as
part of the 15-hour education requirement above.
b. One (1) year of work experience regularly utilizing Computer Aided Drafting tools.
Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Successfully pass the Company's EEI Technical Aptitude test. If an aptitude test is failed on the employee's initial effort, it may be retaken after a one month waiting period, but not to be taken more than once per job posting. Only two retakes will be permitted.
