We are currently seeking a CAD Tech Intern to assist our Government Services group in Cedar Rapids, IA.

The Intern is responsible for completing assigned tasks under the direct supervision of the Group Manager, Project Manager or Project Engineers. This Intern is expected to apply the concepts learned through required education, and common sense to solve specific engineering related tasks as assigned. Seeks guidance from more senior engineering staff and applies acquired knowledge to related assignments.

Will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Designs portions of a project using relevant office software, modeling and CADD technology.

Completes calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems.

Prepares specification materials through the use of research and manufacturing catalogs to specify materials, installation, inspection and payment of items specific to a project.

Works with CADD Technicians in order to complete design details and plan sets.

Performs research and writes objective summary reports which are used in the completion of project work or inspection.

Assists in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates.

Completes field observation, inspection and data collection duties as directed by senior engineering staff.

Communicates with client staff and internal design team as directed by senior engineering staff.

Education and/or Experience

The Intern must be attending an accredited four-year or graduate engineering university pursuing a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.

May possess zero to three years of relevant engineering experience.

The desire to focus on Transportation and design engineering is highly preferred.

Must have basic knowledge of office software (Word, Excel, etc.) and be capable of working with CADD software, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other engineering automation tools as required. Experience with Microstation/ geopak is a plus as well.

Physical Demands

Work is primarily performed in the office with occasional trips to a client's site or other locations as needed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for prolonged period of time, stand, walk, talk, hear, and reach with hands or arms.

Hand eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and other office equipment. The employee is also required to kneel, crouch, and bend. Must be capable of carrying up to 30 pounds of equipment over all types of terrain and in all types of weather conditions.

SUMMARY The Maintenance Supervisor Responsible for leading and directing plant maintenance activities; ensures that equipment and facilities are kept in optimum operating conditions. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES * Report to Manufacturing Manager any information that may impede the operation of the plant as soon as it becomes known, while providing technical expertise regarding plant equipment and facilities. * Initiate and/or maintain a cost-effective preventive maintenance program and Implement quality improvement and cost reduction ideas * Contact and work with vendors and subcontractors to achieve desired results. * Maintains adequate inventories of spare parts and Purchase materials, parts, and supplies as required. * Troubleshoot and solve problems. * PLC understanding, utilizing pc software as a tool to repair. * Available to respond to unplanned machine downtime after normal work hours. * Champion NFP70E training compliance for facility. * Perform maintenance functions on relays, UPS, distribution network, breakers, switches, motors. * Perform replacement on diagnostic faulty electrical elements of machine including motors, relays, and switches; and setup sensing mechanism, utilizing hand tools. * Administrative responsibilities – safety, SAP, lift trucks, building maintenance, etc. * Other duties as assigned. POSITION REQUIREMENTS * High school diploma or GED. * Four years maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant. * Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following: * College and/or related technical courses. * Five years' experience in the corrugated box industry with heavy experience in electronics, * Mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electricity. * Demonstrated personnel supervisory skills.
