OBJECTIVE:

Responsible for transforming a technology solution concept into an accurately detailed design, helping to ensure that the customer gets the CEC Experience from start to finish.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Translates customer needs and wants from the post-sale design, and accurately portray those details when transferring the design to AutoCAD.

  • Continuous internal communication, working closely with Engineering for smooth and accurate handoffs.

  • Work with Field Operations to accurately complete as-builts, updating documentation to reflect any in-field adjustments as needed and publish to as-built database.

  • Maintain local office plotter and printing supplies.

  • Act as a resource for various in-house projects that may come up.

  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION RESULTS DESCRIPTION

  • Provide documentation by established due date: > 90%.

  • Maintain as-built turnaround - > 90% by internal customer due date.

  • Maintain 55% utilization and within budgeted project quoted hours.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One year of AutoCAD experience.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two years of AutoCAD experience.

  • Two OR four year degree from an accredited institution, with course work in electrical engineering, telecommunications, networking, or other relatable fields of study.

  • Experience with CEC products and vendors; EST, Milestone, Genetec, Lenel, Avigilon, Axis, Extron.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and lead well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations is essential.

  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.

  • Excellent Presentation Skills, large and small groups

  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong knowledge of communications systems, including audio, video, security, fire alarm, wireless, and data networks.

  • PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment), Microsoft Visio, and strong working knowledge of Excel is preferred.

  • Certified in Autodesk Revit / BIM is a plus.

  • Experience using PDF editors such as Bluebeam Revu or Adobe.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

  • The duties of this job require the employee to effectively talk and hear English language communications.

  • The employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.

  • Some light lifting of objects is required.

  • Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Above average intellectual ability and excellent judgment are needed to deal effectively with a wide range of problem solving and trouble shooting activities.

  • This job is primarily located in a private office.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
